Howdy!!! Despite the fact that neither of my teams, Dallas Cowboys nor Houston Texans, are playing in the Super Bowl, the occasion provides us with an opportunity (excuse really) to have a BBQ: the brisket, ribs, cabrito, whole chickens, and sausage shall be placed in the pit at around 0500 and lovingly attended to throughout the day. In addition, I'll be cooking some Frijoles Burrachos in a cast iron kettle while Mrs. Gigs and her gal friends prepare German potato salad, cole slaw, pecan pies, homemade bread, etc., etc.. Our libations of Shiner beer and assorted Texas wines are being chilled at the time of this post. As far as the outcome of the game............we could care less!!! What are your plans?

Wow, I'm headed down your way.

I'll probably have leftover Greek food from tonight and then will be driving 2 hours round trip on a rescue transport.

I don't have any plans at all. If I'm even near the TV when it's on I will see if the puppy bowl is on this year, other then that, work on my car and/or truck.

Howdy GO!!! I applaude you for incorporating academic studies into your Sunday regimen!!! Concerning canned beans, might I suggest you sample HEB's brand (Hill Country) of Frijoles Rancheros, they're really quite tasty. Gig 'em Aggies!!!

My Steelers aren't playing, so I won't be wasting several hours in front of the TV today ;)

I will probably go visit my aunt in the hospital, take Orson to the dog park, and then play some Dance Dance Revolution! Whoooo hooooo! :D

Even though the Pats are in the game, I only know one person having a superbowl party and I'm not in the mood to drive up to Maine on my one day off.

Plus with my new found stomach ulcers I can't eat any hot wings or drink any beer . . . and since I hate football there's no point in going to one anyway.

We are heading over to Hubbys cousins place... they have a brand new 52 inch TV.... that was given to them for FREE from our other cousins MIL (lol they are well off and just bought a whole new entertainment center and needed to get rid of the 52 inch so they just gave it to him lol)

So we are heading over there... whole family will be there. it will be fun. aunt Sandy is making homemade caramel corn... MMMMMMM

There will be lots of other food... but I don't know what... it's a surprise lol.

I have a 20lb turkey roasting. the usual stuffing, mashed taters, corn, gravy, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin bread. I don't care about this game, but hubby thinks it's a big deal. lol I figured I've give him a grand meal for it. :)

Well, I'm not much of a sports person... but since the Patriots are playing again.. I think we're gonna watch it. I have to support my hometown, right?? lol. Anyway.. my goal is to watch it. I went over 48 hours without sleep and had to work two 12 hour shifts in between the no sleep saga. I slept about 7 consecutive hours today and feel like I hadn't slept a wink.. I'm still so tired. But I will try my best to keep my eye lids open long enough to see the Patriots kick some butt!!

TJ wanted to have all kinds of snacks and food I think, but I just don't trust myself around fattening foods just yet. So, he's making a fairly lowfat stirfry for supper with brown rice I think. And later on we're gonna splurge and have some home made hot wings (way less fat and calories than the ones you buy out at a restaurant but still not a "healthy" item... sigh) And we might have some spinach dip with some blue corn nacho chips since those might be just a tad better in fat and calories than the regular ones.

No beer for me because I would indulge too much and that is just wasted calories..lol

I hope the Pats win! GO PATRIOTS!!!

Being a sports junkie , I'll have it on while I play hearts on my 'puter . I don't like the " hype " ...just a good game . I love the Pats , but will be for the underdog ....and since my Manning isn't in , will be for Eli all the way ! If the Pats do win , they certainly deserve it ! What a great season !
