Should I be concerned about the sunflower oil in my dogs food? I hear conflicting statements about it.

Welcome back! :) I was wondering where you had gotten to! :D

Generally speaking, sunflower oil is not a "bad" ingredient, but like with so many other things, some dogs can't tolerate it.

Itching is a symptom in most dogs who suffer from food allergies of one type or another, so yes, it certainly can.

thank you Mordy! I have narrowed it down to these suspects ...sunflower oil,chicken,dairy...the canned evo duck has sunflower oil lower on the ingredient list and mixed with kibble without sunflower oil seems okay...but add those three in and scratch! So...I will challenge each seperately in about a week so I know what to avoid. I have passed the Natural Balance duck and potato,Solid Gold Barking with the Moon,Evo canned duck and rabbit.Considering in the future the honest Kitchen preference with canned 100% duck/rabbit. I only post this for any future person with itchy issues as all the previous posts have been so helpful with my elimination:)

I had to do a double take to make sure it was really you showpug! It's awesome to see you back (agian no help on the sunflower oil). How are you?
