I'm in a mood today, and a bit miffed at the fact that I haven't seen snow in 4 years! I totally miss having to spend 15 minutes dressing to go outside, layering on so many clothes that I looked like the Michelin Man just so I could feed the cattle. Shoveling snow in -20 degree weather with only boots, gloves, shorts and a t-shirt on was one of my favorite things to do. Not to mention snowboarding, jeeeze I miss that!

Meh. Summer is on its way here in Arizona. I was enjoying the days when the temperature stayed under 90 degrees. During the winter, I am almost always outside. During the summer, it's rare that I leave the house for something other than a swim in the pool.

What do you do when you're confined to the house for long periods of time? Any suggestions of something that I can take up this year that will keep me busy?

Oh, and anyone who lives in a cold climate - want to adopt me?

RD . . . wanna move to Alaska with me? :D Bet we can get Blue to take us on a river trip or two.

How 'bout it, Blue? I promise Bimmer and the Grrrrls will keep the bears away. If they venture too close, Shiva may figure out their food potential

I feel the same way...I moved to Florida to escape the winter chill of New England....now I yern to return.....It's funny how everything in life goes full circle like that......

As for indoor activities for sweltering torpid summer days....If you find some that don't include a book or a computer, promise to let me know too! :D

I feel the exact opposite....I'm so sick of winter and spring keeps teasing us for a day or two then goes away. Sounds like you need to move somewhere where there are distinct seasons.

Speaking from a frost-bitten canadian guys point of view, you guys with the warm weather are spoiled. You say you would enjoy winter, which is great you probobly would, till the true weather came along

but say you love it when its -32 plus windchill and your freezing your gonads off

Oh, I hate the winter. I don't want to go outside if it's below 40 degrees. We can trade states, if you want. :D Arizona sounds like it's right up my alley. It gets nice and cold here in Ohio.

Oh pleeeeeze Blue! *pleading puppydog eyes* :p

I'm totally there, Renee. Maybe if we went during the winter, we could figure out a Fila sled team. That'd be the ride of a lifetime, eh?

Melissa, okay. You can move here to the seven circle of he-- er, AZ. I'll gladly trade states with you!

Try the 100+ degree weather that lasts from May to nearly October (including the 105-109 degrees in July and August), and tell me how spoiled we are. ;) In the winter, you can layer on the shirts until you look like a basketball. But in the summer, you can only strip off so many clothes before the police arrest you. :D

I'd move to a cold climate any day. But my hubby is miserable in anything under 70 degrees, so there goes that idea.

You don't need snow for a Fila team. Have you ever checked out those feet? Huge, wide tread and webbed. ATV dogs . . . :D
I've never picked up and studied a Fila foot. Didn't know they were webbed!

Going to AK would be a fun road trip when (if.. grr, stupid insurance!) I get my DL!

Gem, my family is the same. They actually don't mind the cold that much but if it is overcast at all, they start whining "eeew it's sooooo depressing outside!"

Yeah, but AC is readily available

I would enjoy the hot weather more than making an instant snotcicle by walking outside, you can layer all ya want, but when its -30, whatever is exposed (eg, face,) is gonna freeze within a short period of time.

K9, but it's fun to spit and watch it freeze before it hits the ground!

Seriously. Trade me. Your gonads can fry down here instead. :D

I despise winter weather- and I live in the Pacific NW, so I think I'm a bit of a pansy. I honestly don't know how I would survive somewhere like Ohio (SO cold).

In a perfect world I would be living in La Jolla, California or in Broome, Western Australia (although those are some WICKED hot summers there). Still, I'm one of those people who despises being cold, and positively rejoices in the heat.

The only problem with moving would be maintaining Shiba coats...sigh...

I hate Alabama weather. It can never make it's mind up. One day, it will be 30degrees, the next day it is 85. You have to watch the weather every morning to know what you need to dress in.
But we are like Gempress, home of the nonstop 100degree summers. March-November. You can't even dress up too much for Halloween, because Halloween nights are always sweltering.

I can't remember the last time we had a Halloween that didn't require winter coats...

Kansas has it's total suck-factor in regards to weather, but at least we get to experience all four seasons...sometimes in the same day....RD, bring your boys and come live with me! :D
