So we took all of our equipment out and set it up today, and we ran into a tiny problem with the dog walk.

This is the dog walk's flat ramp. It's adjustable to 4 feet and 2 feet for training.

Then this is the gap we have when the planks are on.

Now... There's less of a gap at 2 feet, of course, but I'm wondering about this gap at 4 feet. I want to make sure no toes get caught up in that gap, even though my dog rarely/never steps on that part of the dog walk, but still, better safe than sorry.

So I need suggestions on how to fill that gap with the most effective and "permanent" thing. I just don't want to have to be replacing what I "fill" it with every three months.

Sorry if the pictures are giant. They're cell phone shots.

We had a similar issue with an A-Frame at a dog daycare, where we worried about the hinge/gap at the top. We solved it with a piece of foam that you can get at the hardware store for wrapping copper pipes so they don't freeze. Ours came in 4', 6' and I think 8' sections. It was super easy to cut to length, and as it's already split down the side to slide around the pipes, it was easy to use half of the piece or a quarter or whatever size you need.. picture a hollow pool noodle with a slice down the side. We just tucked it in as the frame was being set up, and the foam edges caught between the wood and the metal hinge. Takes a little manoevering, but we never had an issue with anyones toes. HTH

One of the A-frames I have here is like that. We just have a wedge of wood that fits into the gap at the top and it works well :)
