Call me lame, that's fine, I don't care, lol...but I started playing Guitar Hero II around Thanksgiving, I think.

I have made it through Medium in Career Play. On to Hard...and it's so hard. I never have had to practice, so now I am practicing, but is it possible to get through the Hard level?

The game doesn't live with me, so there is a time factor. Just wondering if I should give it up at that level.

When going to Hard and Expert, put your index finger on red and use it to switch back and forth between red and green. It's easier for your index to reach then for your pinky.

I've noticed for people who got really good at medium, it was really hard for them to go to hard and expert because you're so used to playing without the orange key.

Can you pass any of the songs on hard?

I might almost suggest going straight to expert because on expert you're actually playing what you hear, which I found, makes it easier.

I do Rock Band guitar on expert.

It was difficult in the beginning, but once you get used to shifting your fingers up and down the neck, you do it without even thinking. I personally wouldn't recommend getting used to moving your index finger only. In fast parts especially, I think it's much easier and more accurate to shift your entire hand instead of fumbling with only one finger.

You might try to practice the strum up/strum down technique, if you haven't done it already. Move your fingers up, hit the strum bar. On the way down, hit it again. You get twice the strums in half the time, and by using only one motion. It's the best way to get through some of the insanely fast strum parts accurately. I use my curled index finger to hit the bar on the way up, and my thumb on the way down. You could probably get through hard and expert levels without doing this, but your accuracy may suffer in some parts. Good luck!

Ooh, the drums are so much fun! They drums are probably the hardest instrument in the game, but I like it because it's actually very close to the "real" instrument. I'm not coordinated enough to play them. I can make it though easy and medium, but that darned bass pedal just kills me on hard.

I know only one person who can do drums on expert, and that's a friend of mine. He also happens to be a band director and drum teacher. It's sickening...on his very first time playing Rock Band, he just sat down at the drum, put the level on expert and proceeds to kick @ss on one of the hardest songs in the entire game. No fair!

I, like Gempress, play on Expert on Rock band. Guitar Hero hard is like Rock band Medium lol.

Just practice a lot!

As for the drums, my brother's friend's who usually play our rock band drums actually play drums in real life, and they say its not close to being the same! I HATE when they hit it so hard..I have to keep telling them, they are not REAL drums lol! Yeah, one of my brother's friends can play drums on expert..I am stuck on medium with the drums, cause I don't play them very often.
