Ok, so indoors, if I tell he dog to sit, lay down or come, she listens very well. If there is company she might be a little excited and needs and extra word or two of coaxing to sit or something but all in all, I'm very proud of the way she listens.

Outdoors is a bit different. If I ask her to sit, she looks and listens, but she just won't do it. I usually have to take my had, place it on her rear, give her a little push so she'll sit.

Is there anything more I should do? or just keep working at it?

Some dogs don't appreciate being forced into a sit. The natural reaction for a dog is to resist the downward force.

Dogs don't translate behaviors into new environments very well. My dog knew sit at around 2 months, but he wouldn't do it reliably outside or in the presence of strangers until about 4 months. Keep working on it, make sure you train her in novel environments (outside), and in the presence of distractions.
