Well, a stay at home mom is probably THE most difficult job around. You guys get very little credit in my opinion. If your hubby had to try it for a week he would probably run screaming! I have huge respect for stay at home moms!

You need to start scheduling once a week "my time" evenings. Make sure he knows about this and watches the kids. How you get him to do it? I have no idea!
He needs to respect you!

I'm a stay at home mom too.

Rob works full time, 9 am to 7pm most days, could be later depending, 6 days a week. He provides anything, and I mean anything, that I need.

We do not share chores. I am the one who watches the kids, takes them to appointments, cooks dinner/lunch/breakfast, does ALL the housework, laundry, so on and so fourth. His job is to bring home the bread. I'm fine with that. I may only be 20 years old and doing it, but I am fine with it :)

All I ask for is my weekend every other weekend. We take the kiddos to their grandma's on a Friday, and I have two days to sit and do nothing if I like. Most times I go to Rob's work with him on Saturday and help out.

Things will change this year though. With Johnny going to school this fall, I am going to go back to school myself. There is no way I can manage doing all that plus a school workload.

Rob has said he wouldn't mind helping. I told him if he did the laundry, I'd do everything else :p

Well caring for a 2 year old and a almost 7 month old + all the house work (and a broken AC in 100 heat) is wearing me down.
Kyle uses a towel a day in the shower, changes cloths when he gets home and the laundry is getting so over welming I stopped doing it.
His mom came over and was like GOD SARAH...like it is only my job to do it.
F THAT!
I have to care for 2 young kids. I am always doing for them and when kyle gets home I get to do for him to?
NO!
NO NO NO!
I am sick of serving everyone but myself! I wear the same cloths for 3 days. I dont shower for 5 days..
Why?
Because I dont even have time to do anything else.
When Im at the computer its because I have to take a little pleasure break! Usually I just leave it up and sit down 3 mins at a time.
Im just so sick of having to do everything on my home and get to watch him sit back and get served!
Whos serving me?!?!
NO ONE! NOT EVEN MYSELF!

You don't shower for 5 days?

Look, I'm a SAHM, too, during the summer, and I know it can seem like people are sucking every single living CELL out of your body at times, but I think that if your husband isn't going to communicate with you, and you think the home chores should be split more evenly, maybe you should get a job outside of the home?

I have a lot of crap I have to do, and sometimes housework gets put off. I don't care if you cannot eat off my floors on some days. Laundry irritates the hell out of me, but I either do it once or twice a week, or a load or two a day.
The only real "me" time I get is when my children decide to go outside or to their friends' houses.

Most days I don't mind. I love being here with my family. I've done the working mom thing before, and until I get done with school, this is what I am going to be doing. I like putting my children to bed at night and waking with them in the morning. I like cooking them dinner so that I KNOW they are eating healthy.
The working mom thing didn't work for me. It works for lots of other people, but it didn't work for me. I HATED IT. I hated having to leave my children in the care of someone else. I did it at the time because I had to. I don't have to now, and I don't.

Sounds to me like you have it down pat Chewbecca. Warms my heart to hear that. The best thing ever my mother did for me was to be a stay at home mom. There was nothing better then having her fetch me from school.

BTW logger sounds like a rather physical intensive job. Do you know in detail what goes on during his day? asking out of curiosity because to me it sounds like a job that'd really kick yer arse for you...but what do I know?

okay so is there some reason why you could not shower with the 3y/o napping and the 7 month old in a playpen outside the bathroom door with the door open? Or in a bouncy chair right outside the shower itself so you could peek your head out?

I just dont like having to get in and out in and out in and out in and out every time the baby starts crying.
Its just not worth it to me..
