One thing that could help him know that you plan to keep heeling and its not a stay is foot work. If you want him to come with you strike off with your left foot. If you are leaving him in a stay strike off with your right foot.

Its looking good.. start adding about turns and such.

I wanted to ask you about the about-turns. How do I start those, and keep him heeling? He seems to get confused and stumbles and then trips me, LOL.

About turns are always to your right.. so no tripping.

Once he is good at really staying with you then I start teaching pivots and reverse which is essential for rally.

Thanks Dekka. He was doing pretty good yesterday when we were working on his about turns. I recorded it, I'll have to upload it later. We're prob. going to take a break from any rally for now though, and I'll probably start back up with him in the future.

Good you two are improving. feed treats by his left shoulder so he has to straighten up to get the treat in the sit..
