Hi all once again. I have been a bit busy and unable to read/communicate with everyone. I have read up on what I have missed. I have been training Missy, St. Bernard, who is now 3 months old. She has not had accidents in her crate and goes outside when I take her. I take her out after being in her crate and then I allow her to walk around the house w/me while I am home. Eventhough she has gone outside, she somehow thinks the carpet is grass! She feels she can go anytime she wants, but she holds it while in her crate. She is able to go all night w/o a problem. Is there something I can do to eliminate the peeing in the home? What amazes me is that I take her out every hour and she still has to go on the carpet after going outside. I keep her outside over 10 minutes and she goes as planned. Is there a chance her bladder is not up to par? If so, shouldn't she have problem holding all night? She appears to have some intellegence to her due to learning tricks. Thanks for everyone's help on this matter. I want to be able to completely housebreak Missy, And I need a lot of input on this. I have never had a dog take this long to P.T. Thanks all!!

Is it wall to wall carpeting or an area rug?
If it's an area rug, take it up for a week or two and clean it as best you can so there's no smell of pee in it (which may help reinforce your pupp's choice of location). Not having it there will force Missy to find another spot - preferably outside.
If it's wall-to-wall, can that section of the house be gated off?

I have carpet all through my house except kitchen. Her crate is placed in my office, which I have converted from garage. (I tend to refer to the room as garage sometimes.) I keep a close look on her while she is out of crate. When she does mess, I have cleaned it pretty good w/carpet cleaner. I usually do not leave any odor in the carpet. What else can I do?
Sounds like she is marking her territory. Is it just a little bit of pee or a full pee?
Make sure you clean it with a product specially made to get rid of pee smells. Animals tend to go in the same spot if they can smell it.
Keep her with you at all times when she is not in her crate. If you catch her peeing do something to distract her like throw your keys on the floor (not at her!) and take her outside immediately.
Like we've said before it takes a long time for housebreaking to be accident free.
Is she spayed yet? Getting her spayed may help a little too.

Hi Saje, been awhile. Missy tends to go anywhere. I have been taking her outside and she goes one or twice and she seems to find more to do when she come in. Is it possible she is confused between carpet and grass? I would hope not. Also, my guess is that her bladder has not grown yet, but what surprises me is that she can go all night w/o a problem. When she goes in the house, it is a small amount, due to she has already gone outside, I would think. I have been cleaning up the mess w/carpwet cleaner and it seems to eliminate the smell and stain. And no, she has not been spayed yet. I will be posting her pic soon, she is so adorable, but testing me so much...lol
