I am interested in this as well. Some pretty cool sport mixes out there, I have been drooling over some of the borderstaffys lately.

I think the mix is regional. Borderstaffys are HUGE over here and what I was going to get for awhile.

Ok what is a "Sportmix"? Is it like the Border Terrier x Malinois mixes bred out here for flyball? Is it strictly a flyball thing, or do other sports have these mixes as well?

A Sport Mix is one that is bred specifically for sports, yes, such as flyball. No, I've seen them bred for agility as well...and dock jumping now I think on it. I'm sure there are other sports as well.

You are in CA right? I am getting a Sports Mix from your neck! A Border Terrier x Malinois x Border Collie from the sounds of it. From Lisa Maze :D I am SO EXCITED!

Ah ok, it is exactly what I thought it was. I am in California, but about 8 hours from Lisa. Quite a few of her Sportmixes here though.

I guess, since the roles we need our dogs for have changed, it does make a bit of sense that the breeds change a bit as well. 100 years ago we needed working herding dogs. Now, we really don't, but we do need Dock Diving dogs.

I don't, but I'd consider getting one in the future. (My primary interest is Borderstaffs)

Painted Star Farms would be at the top of my list. Blue Cedar makes interesting dogs, too.

We have a few that run at our training center, specifically borderstaffy's. One just went through my puppy k, so I'm excited to see what she'll do when she grows up.

I'm not into the sport scene, so I don't know what kind of dogs they like or use. But I always thought BC/Sibe mix (Or Sibe/GSD) was really versatile, and I bet it could be sporty.

    BC/Staffy sounds...interesting. Lol.

I met a BC/whippet a few weeks ago and he looked like a pretty cool little dog! The owner is into a bunch of sports, flyball, disc, etc so I'm not sure what she specifically did with him, but he was fast!

I don't have a sport mix and don't want or need one, but I must say, I've loved the BC/Whippets I've met. They were really cool dogs and something I could definitely live with.

Does this mean I can have Kastle? Pretty sure you and Jason have to have the same number of dogs to keep it even. Anything else is blasphemy. :D

Oh and I get asked numerous times at every trial if Zuma is a sport mix... That is all.

*nod* I've liked the Border/whippets (Bippets?) I've met as well. I'd be less inclined to go the Borderjack direction, though my agility instructor has one and she's a pretty neat dog.
