I've run into two Spinonis (on separate occasions) in my neighborhood recently. I didn't know what they were either time until I asked. They were beautiful! But I had never heard of them.

Anyone have experience with this breed? Just curious...

The owner of our dog park has one named Sifka... neat dog! Their gait is odd though - almost a paddling gait. Siffie loves everyone...

I've met a few around my home, and each time has been a joy. The dogs I met were sound, lovely examples of the breed- one of those things where you can't help but want one after you meet it.

I really wish I had more experience with them than that. But I'm always a sucker for rare breeds.

I've only seen them at shows, but I've always adored the breed. They're beautiful with really cute scruffy faces. <3

When I used to visit my dad I would see one when I would take Dozer to the dog park. Her name was Jewel :) she was a sweetie she was there with her owner every time I visited and took Dozer. She was sound and from what I could tell perfect she was also a show dog. I guess she has become Dozers favorite dog park friend from what my dad told me in our last phone call.

I've met two of them before and as was said above, they were an absolute joy to be around. I didn't really care for the feel of their coat or appearance, as it's just not my type, but their temperaments and personalities were awesome.

Wonderful dogs! I believe Italys' version of our Golden retriever... big, lumbering, good natured companions.

I think they are adorable dogs. Very goofy and lovable. Also very hard to find. So hey, RIJ, did you ask for the breeder's name? Well Huds one day find himself face to face with a "spumoni" dog?

Ha ha... Hudson is all I can have for now in my life. I was just wondering about the Spinoni since I ran into two different ones and had never noticed their existence before!

You can count on my neighborhood for appearances of all kinds of rare things. ;)

i'm currently having a bad case of spinone lust. we have one who comes into the vet clinic where i work, a very very nice, very well bred dog. i got the name of the breeder... just in case ;) i was very pleased to see his dogs are titled in conformation and have field titles as well as the health testing.
