So post any pics here of any special markings your dog has. Hades has what I interperet to be a diamond on his neck.. LOL, I wanted to call him Diamond but my bf said it was lame, plus his dad's name was caine... don't ask, he wanted a bible name and neither of us liked jebediah, it's a great name though for any of you jebby's out there :D LOL

So here is hades "special marking" : Diamond :)

Dakota has very ordinary markings for a Border Collie but he does have this thing that I call his "mullet".. he has black fur that extends from his head down onto his white collar. When you look at it from the right angle, with his fuzzy ears and hair fluffed, it looks just like a big mullet. :p

Ripley doesn't have any shapes to his markings, but I've never seen another Pap that looked like him. I love his little black mask. :)

When Charlie was a baby, his black markings on his back made a PERFECT smiley face. :) He has 2 circular spots on each side (the eyes), and a black curve under 2 spots (the mouth). His breeder's children actually named him Smiley LOL. :D As he grew, the black markings got bigger so one side of the mouth is collided into one of the eyes, so it doesn't look much like a smiley face any more.... more like mickey mouse ears. :D

Here is a pic when he was a pup, you can see half of the happy face...

Well, neither of my two have any noticeable markings. It took me almost 2 years to see that Tira has ONE white hair on the side of her neck close to her mouth. You can't even think of seeing it in a picture, it's that hard to find!

Gunner, he's weird. His father had a white streak going down the center of his chest. His mother didn't. So, I told the breeder to make sure Gunner didn't have any white on his chest. Well, as you can tell from the pictures...there isn't any on his chest, or anywhere else that's visible.
HOWEVER... if you look at the hair between the big pad and the smaller toe pads you see white hairs (not a whole lot, but they can be seen if you're really looking). All four feet have the white hairs in the same spot.
In this picture, the place where Gunner has the white hairs is pink (and hairless I think). You get the idea.

Oh yeah...the picture above is NOT Gunners foot. Just a borrowed pad from another site so you get the idea of the place I'm talking about.:)

Well, we either have ALOT of time on our hands OR we know our dogs so well from personal time with them and need to know exactly what they look like in case something happens.
If only I checked myself as thoroughly (sp) as I check them. lol

If Hades gets a mosquito bite (he's got super pink thin skin) I get freaked out! What's that lump! OMG! Oh, it's just a bug bite.. LOL

Stupid stuff too like if people say he's brown I get offended. LOL, he's fawn thank you! LMAO. Although sometimes in a certain kind of sunlight he looks like two toned brindle type looking colour.... LMAO

When Archie was small, it looked like his front right foot had been speckled with paint. We called it his "magic paw" because it really stuck out. If you look at him now, you can't really see it. It lightened up a great deal as he grew older.

Maybe it was his magic "puppy" paw and when he got older he didn't need the "puppy" magic as much. :p It was very cute but he's still gorgeous even if you can't see it now. :)

I can still see it! Well it looks kind of orangy maybe...

LMAO@ "magic paw" haha

That black stripe on his chest is very unique too. Actually his whole chest, and throat are pretty neat. I've never seen anything like it. Usually the white stripe down the throat is thicker.

Oh I forgot Hades "racing stripe" lol. The marking that comes from his muzzle to the back of his neck. My friend always used to call him "speedy" because of it. He starts off fast, and than slows down and stops at the back of his neck.. LOL

Hey it does! I was a bit disappointed I must admit, because all of his other markings are pretty symetrical... and his darned stripe messed it up, of course until I noticed that there's a "c" in it. My name starts with a "c" and so did his daddy's name. LOL

When I look at it that way, I see a big crazy claw.. or talon.. LOL
