i was walking meh dog in the park when a freind of mine and his dog walked by.we started talking and decided to get a kebab so we left the dogs outside coz dogs aren't allowed in and then some guy came in and said that some dogs are doing somethink funky outside.so i ran out and they were mating!me mate tried to shift his dog but he wouldn't move,it was well embarassing!i threw my drink on them and his dog got shocked and jumped in the air then ran right into me.
But my dog isn't fixed and neither is his,she is only 6 months old and it was her first heat so i didn't know.i was supposed to get her fixed at 8 months, thats what the vet said to do.But im wonderin whether she could be pregnant?

What a stupid question! Is your dog prego? IF a tie took place expect a unwanted litter of pups. Why would you place your female next to a male while in season any how?

This is a very sad case and you need to get your girl seen by a vet NOW and get the proper medication to abort the litter. 6 months old?! That is just wayy to young and would almost be cruel to expect a bitch that is a puppy herself to have a litter. And you need to get her spayed ASAP.

Did you not stop to think that if the bitch is in heat, it probably wouldnt be the best thing to leave her with a male dog ?!

And its not embarassing that the dogs were mating, whats embarassing is that the owners didnt have enough common sence to keep them apart!

It's important that you spay/abort. She is WAY you young in every way to have puppies. Please in the future spay and neuter your animals.
Why was your dog in heat and left with a male dog, ever, even if you didn't know she was in heat?
And it can really hurt the dogs if you try to pull them apart while mating.

Just make an appointment at your vet to get her spayed within the next week or so. In the meantime, keep her away from other dogs.

Did you not notice the blood droplets all over your floor, or change of character in the dog? Did you not notice the males attraction to the female?

Did you know that if you throw water on dogs while mating or tied that you can cause injury to not just one but both dogs? If the male is in a full tie, and happens to yank out, he can rupture her insides!!! Which will cause major damage to her!

You have no money for a litter! But you have the time to leave two dogs unattended for a oooops litter of again unnessary litter of pups! Why, did you not get the dog fixed? There's just too many excuses here!:yikes:

You'll have to have to have her spayed ASAP, but it's dangerous for the female. Please be more careful next time.

Yes, unfortunately.

If a bitch is pregnant, the blood vessels are very large and are full of blood to feed the growing puppies. It puts her a risk for severe postoperative bleeding. I would get a vet that's very experienced, because it's possible that she could bleed to death. I don't mean to scare you, but it's a serious concern. It's a risk you have to take if she's pregnant. Not to beat a dead horse, but that's why you have to be very careful with intact animals.

You may be able to get a mismate shot but I believe it's only effective if given within the first few days. Please contact your vet ASAP to discuss the options.

You may feel that way if you wish! Although you as a dog owner must be responsible for your animal. You purchased a female! You should have asked questions prior to an accident!

Why? To prevent issues such as these!

meco, I understand it's frustrating sometimes when people have accidental matings and pregnancy but it's a bit uncalled for to tell him his question was stupid. People come on here for help. Yes, I agree this could have been prevented and should never have happened, but try to be a bit more patient and offer some advice.
Bob, surgery can be risky but so can birth. As we've already said she's just a pup herself, far too young to have puppies. You have to be very careful when you have intact animals, especially around other intact animals of the opposite sex. But you already know that now. It's important she doesn't have these pups. You said yourself you don't have the money. Puppies cost a lot. Not to mention the unneeded and unwanted pups in the world.
It's important and a common practice often with success.

I agree with Mom. He knows it's a mistake, everyone has made that clear. Now the problem needs to be fixed.

The dangers and health risks of an early pregnancy spay, vs. a 6 mos old puppy whelping a litter are small.

If it were my puppy, I would wait 2 weeks after she is finished being in season, and have her spayed. Be sure to tell the vet she is likely in whelp.

Oh, most definitely Red... I am definitely advocating a spay, that is the best option. I guess I was just trying to impress upon the OP that the whole thing isn't something to be taken lightly, for future reference.

Guys, he may NOT have seen any obvious signs that she was in heat. Having seen Kharma and Shiva both go through silent heats I can tell you it does happen and if you don't know what to look for and don't have some idea that it's about time, it would be very, very easy not know until it was too late.

Are you sure they even mated ?? Please talk to your vet about it . She doesn't need a litter at this age and neither do you .
