Well the good news is there was no whining last night. I slept on the floor with her and made sure she stayed lying on her bed all night (sometimes she moves to the floor which is hard wood) and I covered her back end with my blanket so no cold could get in. She got up fine this morning, wne t outside to the toilet and then happily ate her food. So no signs of any problems this morning.

I'm going to keep a very very close eye on her, still no walks and still no going up the stairs, I just want her to rest.

Thankyou :). Lol the image in my head is very funny, she sleeps on a wool balanket followed by an old duevet folded up with her spongy dog bed on top. All I can imagine is her balancing on top of it all lol. Do you think thats enough? Maybe I should buy her one of those special beds for dogs with arthritis.

I'm sleeping downstairs on the floor with her tonight (so she doesnt have to climb the stairs) so she can snuggle up to me and I will keep her warm.
You could always put a pea under there and see how the little princess does :D

That sounds like plenty to me.....I would have the vet check her over before investing so much money into a special blanket.

Good to hear that she sounds a little better today :)

Lol hmmm maybe I should try that.

Thanks everyone, I'm relieved she's not whining anymore. She's all happy and springy too, I'm still not taking her for a walk yet though as now I'm paranoid. We'll go out tomorrow.

I hope your Kasey heals fast.

My KC pulls up lame every once in a while, it usually turns out to be a pulled muscle or a cramp. it's usually not a big deal. i just keep him pretty restricted to what he can physically for a few days. that means no rough housing with the other pups, no jumping up on the bed (i will usually lift him up onto it:rolleyes: ) after a few days he's back to his normal bouncy self. When it first happend I completely freaked out that there was something seriously wrong with him.

Well it all started Saturday night. It was about 1am and I was ont he laptop when all of a sudden she gets up and starts whining and walks around in a circle and flops back down. I coaxed her up and she was standing a little stiffly on her back legs, I checked her up and down and she didn't yelp or anything but everytime I touched her just abpve her hips she would look at me. Part of me thought it was pulled muscle as we'd been to the woods the day before for a long walk but part of me couldn't help but worry. I didn't get much sleep that night.

The next morning I got her up and she walked fine, no stiffness or anything. We went for a walk with our friend and she behaved fine. Later that day I was sat in the front room and I hear her whining. I run through to where she was and she runs to me and pushes up against me, I know she wanted me to comfort her but I had no idea what was wrong. My parents assured me it wa a pulled muscle and just to let her rest it. She was fine the rest of the day but once again Sunday night (last night) she woke me up a few times in the night whining.

This morning we didn't go for a walk, just 2 mins down the alleyway next to us and she was walking but there seemed to be a slight stiffness there. She didn't whine till about an hour ago and she doesn't seem to be as comfy lying down as she usually is so my mum rang the vets.

The vet said it could be a pulled muscle from the walk or it could be cramp and as a result she is to have no walks for the next 2/3 days to see if that helps and if not we have to go to the vet :(. It also means she will have to sleep down stairs and I will sleep with her as I live up on the third floor which means getting up 2 flights of stairs.

I'm just so scared, she has never in the 8yrs I've had her had anything wrong with her. The only time was a wart on her eyelid that needed to be removed but I could deal with that as I knew what it was. I just don't know what this it. If its a pulled muscle why is she only whining everynow and again? Its mainly happening at night so could it be stiffness from lying down in the same position?

I really hope it's a pulled muscle. I don't know who hates the vets the most me or her. I mean she loves people but going to the vets is a big no no, she hates it and I hate it too.

Well just thought I'd let you all know, I'm really trying not to go insane I'm just not used to having something wrong with her :(.

You have no choice but to see the vet or your dog would suffer more..I also pray that it's just a pulled muscle and nothing severe things happened aside from which..
