So....
There's this stray cat by my house. There's actually a LOT of stray cats, but this one in particular likes to hang out on my porch. I've been a bad girl and offered him food on occasion, but more than anything, he wants attention. He won't eat if I'm offering pets. And I've only fed him 2 or 3 times over the past 8 months. Whenever I pull into my driveway, he comes running, stands on the porch, and then meows when I go inside
Well...I'm thinking of fostering him and finding him a home. I'll only be in this place for another month, so it's now or never. I love this cat to bits, but I can't really have a cat at this point. Gavroche isn't a fan of cats (unless they're not moving). Logan ADORES cats, though. I'm moving back in with my parents in a month, and they have 2 cats already.
I've been around stray cats all my life. I've never wanted to take them in, not really. But there's something about THIS cat that makes me feel horrible every time I close the door on him. He's the sweetest cat ever, and I hate to see him go through another winter outside.
My plan, for fostering, is to get a crate (I have two extras at my parents' house, or I may get a smaller one for him) and put a small litter box in it, bedding, food and water. And keep him until I find him a home. I would be willing to bet that if I still have him once I move in with my parents, my mom will want him. She has a thing for orange male cats. She already has two. Our second cat we got last winter, and he was a stray. He kind of forced himself upon my mom lol.
So, I could leave him outside and try to forget about him, I can foster him...
...or I can keep him.
