For a home treatment for yeast, especially for cockers. I thought I saved it and I can't find it. My Mom needs it so if possible can someone point me in the right direction? It was more than vinegar and water.

Although anti-biotics won't touch yeast, sometimes there's a secondary, bacterial infection going on at the same time as the yeast infection (over-growth). It depends on the severity whether or not a vet should be consulted, I suppose. Here is some more info if you like.

Natural Treatment for Yeast Infection in Dog's Ears

CAUTION: Don't use vinegar if the ears are red or inflamed. It will burn the living daylights out of them. It's only good for maintenance, once the ears are 100% healthy. I made that mistake once with my Lab. The vet told me I could use vinegar and water but failed to tell me that he meant as a cleaner...a maintainence type thing. Once there's an infection and the ears are red, moist, irritated, don't use vinegar. Poor Bonnie cried, it hurt her so much and I immediately flushed them out with water. I felt horrible. I should have known better. I actually didn't have a good gut feeling about it, but the miscommunication between the vet and me got in the way. Maybe I misunderstood him.

I think this is what you're looking for:

Healthy Ear Recipe

1 tube Monistat (generic is fine)
1 tube Polysporin (use the real deal - it's inexpensive)
1 tube Cortaid (generic works here as well)

Use tubes of similar size. Mix all three together in a container that can
be closed well. It takes a bit to incorporate because the Polysporin is a
bit like Vaseline. Once incorporated, it stays mixed.

If ears are gunky, inflamed or smell bad, start with using a pea sized
dollop twice a day. Use your finger to gently push it into the ear. Rub.
Dogs will only shake their heads once or twice! It's a creamy, very
soothing mixture. Once you have the ears under control, lessen how often
you use it till you're only using it once a week. Once a week keeps ears
from getting bad again.

The blue ear, already linked, worked WONDERS for Bella. She has chronic ear problems that even vets couldn't seem to help, and this stuff cleared it up and I hadn't seen an issue with her ears again. I highly reccomend it. Bella used to cry and scream with other potions. But this, even though it hurt on my open wounds, didn't seem to hurt her at all, even where she had open sores from stratching.

Magic potion, love it. I'll treasure the recipe for ever!

THank you all for letting me know. I will give the list to Mom. Sammy has special needs ears. This time I will make sure I save it to my documents. THanks again.
