I posted these in my other thread, but I don't think anybody really knew it was there. Since a couple people asked, I figured I'd make a new thread.

Anyway, constructive criticism appreciated. :)

Stuff I've done in AP: (Ask me if you're interested in what exactly the assignment was.)

Well the first one is what we called our bar code project. First we filled the paper with letters describing our memories, and then we layered a silhouette on top of it with watercolor. After that, we layered on top of the silhouette a picture we choose from a magazine and after that layered an object that we like. So the project was basically a bunch of layers. Then, we were asked to bring a bar code in and paint a barcode on top of our layers and then paint stuff in the bars.

That was probably the hardest one to explain. The second one was just simply a landscape project, the third was a study of a letter (separate the sheet into 3 parts and on the first one have the letter take up the entire space, on the second one do a close up of the letter so you can't tell which letter it is, and on the third one repeat the letter to create a pattern), and the fourth was a self portrait. The work in progress is a still life and it's supposed to have some sort of narrative or symbolism.

Those are really cool! I loved AP art, it was a great experience. If only I had time to actually draw nowadays. I haven't gotten to in so long.

YOu just get better and better. I love seeing your progress! Love the pattern in the background of the portrait and how it echoed the face...as well as the words in the street. Nice!

I got nothing but . . . I'm blown away.

I will say the second one and the last are my favorites. I think. I want to see how the fourth one comes out -- and hear the significance of the blackjack hand.

Love these. The barcode one is fascinating to look at. So is the street one. I love the colors you use. They have an candied polished look to them, and yet there is a more earthy grimy feeling to some of colors at the same time. It's a cool contrast.

You are just too cool, Keyo. I have to agree, the street one is one of my favorites, I love the words in the street and the perspective. The self-portrait is well done as well; it's hard to make pencil portraits good in both technicalities and feelings.

You've always had a great touch with graphics! I'm not a huge KS fan, but I like what you did with it and the last one has such great, bold contrast to it.

Wow, thanks for all of the comments! Comments always make me happy, muchly appreciated!

Thanks! And oh yeah I am really enjoying AP art so far, I can tell it's going to be a fun year. (But an insanely busy year, jeez! So many projects! *sweats*) I'd be interested in seeing what you did in AP art, if it isn't any trouble. :D What was your concentration?

YOu just get better and better. I love seeing your progress! Love the pattern in the background of the portrait and how it echoed the face...as well as the words in the street. Nice!
*hugs* Thanks smkie :) Long time no talk. I still need to work on noses and the shape of the face doesn't seem quite right to me, but I'm glad you liked the swirls! They are officially my favorite shape.

*glompage* Thankies! I'll update this thread again probably when I'm finished with it, which should be in a couple of days. If I find the time to take the picture, anyway. And actually the dice and the cards are supposed to symbolize the same thing, but does the ace of spades combined with a jack have any meaning in particular? If it does, I could probably pull something meaningful out of my ass that pertains to the picture... :p

Thanks ! Very interestng !
I'm glad! :) My art teacher comes up with very different project ideas sometimes... It's a shame though because her husband got promoted and she had to move to Texas just last week. :( Her replacement seems like a cool dude though. A little more organized than she was, heh heh.

Thank you! I'm glad you like them! I was kinda going for that look, so I'm happy that someone other than me could tell. :p

Hehe thanks! And talent is learned, it's never too late to start practicing. [/corniness] Seriously though. If you love to draw, that's all you need. :)

those are awesome
Thanks :p Glad you like them!

Thanks Zoom!! And yeah I know, I'm too cool for school.

And I can understand why you aren't a KS fan, she didn't do too well in Twilight IMO. Not a fan of the series anyway so... I am a fan though of some of her previous work, in particular the movie "Speak". You should watch it if you have time. :p It's based off of a book of the same name.
