My dog likes to play tug with an old t-shirt that has lots of knots in it. She's never gone after shirts in the laundry, she just seems to know which one she can have.

ONce it starts to get ratty and "thready", I'll throw it out and get another old t-shirt I don't want and knot that all up.

When my dog was a puppy I gave him a knotted sock- they really do make great toys for pups and they are FREE. I do love FREE things :)

I used to play hide and seek with Marco's sock. When he got good I started hiding it around the laundry pile and eventually in it. If he grabbed the wrong clothes I told him "no" and he couldn't play. He quickly learned to hunt for only his sock and I'm sure this helped him to learn to focus on the smell and not just grab the first likely looking object. Loads of puppy fun and a cool skill to make sure the sock fetish doesn't turn into a sock kleptomania :lol-sign:

All my litter's first toys were knotted socks .... great for 1st tug of wars !! I've never had one ingested by any of my dogs and they have always known mine from theirs . I personally feel that some " dog " toys are way more dangerous . We just have to be vigilant .
