Socializing?

Pups in pic at 4-h is FF Kim owner Jen at age 9 wks
Taken them OFF property is essential pups are all that and then some on home turf but when u take them to 4-h class like I do it sometimes goes 180 degrees the opposite. Thus making placements are easier when you can kinda see the WHOLE pic of what the new buyer will see when pups arrives.
I go to 4-h every tues after pups get 1st set of shots, then off to stores parks after 2nd set. I invite allot of people over to the house, I paper train them and allow the moms to teach them manners and how to use the doggie door to go outside.
Puttimg them back with mom after you dry her milk up is essential to teaching proper manners to my breed.
I teach them stairs and other things that may get a fear reaction .
The socializing starts I feel allot younger than experts say.
I find dogs raised in kennel OUTSIDE away from family life have a harder time getting used to family things once sent to new homes.
Again I have a guardian breeding socializing is VERY important.

One thing I use as a guideline is the Rules of 7's

However, I seek to expand on them and exceed each of those rules. IOW, I don't limit myself to 7 people or 7 challenges or what have you. I try to do many more than 7 of each of them. It pays to be creative with them - I've literally fed puppies on top of my dryer out of a frisbee, for eg. In the bathtub out of a roasting pan ...

I play CDs of thunderstorms, jungle sounds, marsh sounds, sound effects, etc. I build them a play land with tunnels, tiny A-frames, buja boards, mirrors, teeters, ramps, etc. They start playing on these things at the age of 4 1/2 weeks.
