This is a good article

Grain free diets work well for UTI's aswell.

Is it an ectopic ureter that your vet wonders if your pup has, Stunned Monkey? An ultra sound will rule this out and requires surgery to fix.
Yes that's it, but I'm not inclined to think she actually has an ectopic ureter. Other than the UTI's, she really doesn't have any of the other symptoms...no dribbling, leakage, or incontinence. The vet threw that out as a possibile cause for the recurrent infections, but so far hasn't gotten to the point where he feels the need to test for it as there are other more likely causes that have yet to be ruled out.

I moved Darby to Canidae a couple of days ago. I didn't bother to do a gradual shift due to what people were saying about Natural Balance and UTI's. So far she's fine on it, and no hint of tummy upset due to the shift.

Thought I'd follow up on this. Darby has been off Natural Balance and on Canidae for about a month now. We just came back from the vet and her urine was normal for the first time in weeks. PH just right, white cell count in range, no bacteria.

The vet wants me to come back in 3 months and have it tested again, but that's it. Looks like switching foods did the trick.
