I was so proud of Chloe this afternoon. I went home after work and she was so excited to see me - she is not used to being home all alone without even Farley for company. I decided to reward her and take a ride down to my daughter's for a short visit. She started carrying on when we were a couple of blocks from my daughter's - she sure knew where we were going. When we got there I just let her out of the truck, off leash, and when one of my grandsons called her she went flying straight into the yard. We didn't close the big gate across the driveway because I figured we wouldn't be there too long and she'd stick around everyone after being alone so long.

Surprise, surprise the next thing I know a black & white cat comes strolling through the yard and of course Chloe spots him and he spots Chloe and takes off running with her in pursuit after him right out of the yard.:yikes: I yelled "Chloe come!" and you could have knocked me over with a feather but she stopped, turned around and came right back! Not 5 minutes later there was an encore performance when a gold cat came through. The 1st time wasn't a fluke - it worked again! I am so proud of her and although we obed. trained for many years I never had a chance to test it under that type of circumstance and really doubted it would work. Needless to say she got loads of praise from everyone and 2 plain cheeseburgers on the way home!:)

Aww, that's awesome!! There's nothing more exciting in dog training than to have complete verbal control of your dog. It's what we strive for, but you're one of the few who seems to have accomplished it. ;)

Oh trust me, she keeps me on my toes. While a firm come worked with the cat situation you should see the "princess" if she's outside and isn't ready to come in. All of a sudden she seems to become completely deaf unless I whisper the word treat! So I guess you can say she has me trained too! I'm just glad that she seemed to really catch on to the concept of there being times when obed. is a must and when mom is willing to let it slide.
