I had to put a piece of wood behind all the knobs after one of my dogs managed to turn on the gas twice on me. The second time the house reeked and I had to do the airing out thing. The non-guilty dog spent the next two days throwing up due to the gas. Thankfully there was no lasting damage. There's a picture on my blog of how I installed the wood.

you wonder how she did it? I used to wonder, many years ago, how the Beagle we had could get things from on top of the fridge. But he did.

Oh wow Mwood! Unreal! Thanks for the link. Oh...I know...I could simply take off the knobs when I go away. Then they really couldn't be turned, I don't think. LOL.

Dan...beagles have amazingly powerful legs. I guess Toker does too. These animals never cease to amaze me....on so many levels.

I would love to have a gas stove, they are just fantastic! I think I've gotten Foolds convinced that he needs to go gas when he replaces his stove, which sounds like it might be soon!

Yup...they cook so evenly and quickly. It literally takes seconds to heat something up. I hardly ever use my microwave if I'm in a hurry. I love the control you get with a gas stove. The only problem I have is that even the lowest btu burner is still too hot. I think it could be adjusted though. It's hard to simmer something without over doing it. You really have to watch it and stir it a lot. Sometimes I'll stick something on my gas, free standing heat stove because it isn't that hot on the top. I love that thing too. In this harsh, winter climate, one has to have an alternative source of heat if the power should go off. I am not into wood stoves...too much work to chop wood and too messy for my liking. Plus, they don't stay burning unless you are home to add wood. Then you have to re-build the fire. The propane is expensive too, but it's worth it to me to only have to turn up the thermostat to make it go. It's not injuriously hot on the outside and the dogs love lying in front of it or even under it after coming in from the cold. It looks cute too.
