So this morning I put my new iPod to use and went for a walk with Eve. Normally I feel like turning aound after a mile or so because I get kinda bored (I take the same route pretty often because it's a couple miles of state land with no roads, so the dogs can go offlead and roam around).

Today Eve and I walked 12 miles and it felt like our usual 2 mile walk. o_O Listening to music was so peaceful that I didn't want the walk to end. I loved it! lol

I put off getting an iPod for years but I'm so glad I have one now. This'll help me exercise more and get into better shape.

I adore my iPod for that reason! I can't get a good workout vibe going unless I've got some music going. I also adore it for traveling because I lose radio stations very quickly.

I hate hate HATE listening to music when I walk.

Distracts me, and always makes me feel like I am going to trip up.

Well, I don't have an iPod but I do have an mp3 player (Creative Labs Zen Microphoto 8GB) and yes, it makes walking the dogs a much more pleasant experience. I initially bought it for myself for my birthday last year because my husband broke his ankle and for weeks and weeks it felt like I was doing nothing but walking dogs, 24/7. I was about to go insane from the boredom (I live in a city, our usual daily walks are not splendid nature hikes filled with the grandeur of the great outdoors).

One thing that mine has that y'alls iPods don't: a radio. I like to listen to NPR and I find that a good show on the radio really makes the time fly when I'm walking. I can't figure out why Apple doesn't include radios in iPods, it's a great feature. I don't necessarily wan to listen to music all the time. I like the news too.

YIKES this is another black hole to pour money into. I just grabbed a new case and earbuds for mine since I want it to stay all shiny and black, and the earbuds it came with don't block out much background noise. I've been thinking of getting the radio attachment.. Sometimes radio irritates me but I like it because it's how I find new artists to listen to. But really, once I find an artist/band that I like, I just get their album.

God, I have another ~10gb of music on CDs that I haven't even touched yet. Though I think when all is said and done, I'll have filled up 20gb of the 80 available.

Me too! Can't listen to it when I am biking with the dogs. Instead I sing really loudly (and out of tune I might add) to myself. teeheehee.

Hee hee I got the same one as you this Xmas, the 80 gig black one? I have not only put all of my fave music on it, but the first season of the Mighty Boosh on there too.

I really like it too.

Isn't the picture quality amazing, Dekka? LOL I must be so easily amused, but I put some movies and TV shows on it and had to run around the house showing everyone just how cool and crisp and clear it looked. XD

Oh so you got the new classic? I have to save up 50 more dollars, but I'm considering buying that one to replace my ancient iPod mini. Glad to hear you like it, because I was also debating on getting the new touch, but for $300 you only get 8GB as opposed to the classic's 80...

I don't have one. :( I'd love one, though. Maybe I'll save up for one.
