Oof. I am seriously pissed, and am sueing this man for all he has and more.

Saturday afternoon, around 1 pm, I was walking Jackson on our land. We were just about to turn around when I saw 2 dogs. One was just sniffing around happily, the other was staring at Jackson. I turned on my heels and started up, and the bloody dog came roaring up. I unclipped Jackson's leash.

Anyway, Jackson chose flight over fight (thank GOD, that dog would've torn him apart!) And thought that I was a better target. I turned around and yelled at it and went to throw a stick at him, but it didn't back off. He locked his jaw on my arm and barreled me over.

Oh, it was just a bloody wreck. The thing was dragging me in all directions, the whole time I was beatin on his neck and face. Finally he let go, and then he decides he's not done and goes for my leg.

Honestly, I'm so glad Hayden was over. He saw jackson offleash and he came down with his dog, and boy did she ever give that other dog a beating. I have NEVER seen a dog as mad as she was.

But anyway, I was taken to the hospital, and Hayden's dog was at the vets for a few hours, but her bites were not serious. My wounds are pretty much healed up, I needed 5 stitches on my leg though. Nasty little bugger.

Anyway Hayden found the dogs owner. He said the black and white one (the one that attacked me) was his, but the other dog was just a scrappy little stray his dog kept running off with. So now we're sueing him for my medical bills. Seriously, if you're going to own a dog, it should be somewhere NEAR your property, not on someone else's farm land.

Hayden went out to find the other dog just now. You could see her ribs, but Hayden's bringing an airhorn and pepper spray this time.

I'm just really mad right now. I was really scared that dog was going to kill me. I was really, really scared. I'm scared to walk around my property. I'm scared to have my goats outside in the field!!

Anyway, some good vibes apprecaited. Heidi got a little battered, but other than me, everyone else was okay. The black and white dog ran off after taking an asswhooping from Heidi.

It's things like this that stay with you - suddenly you don't feel safe on your own property any longer. The physical parts heal - it's the mental injury that lingers. Wishing you the best - take care.

Oh wow, that IS scary to have happened anywhere, let alone on your own property! I hope they make that man responsible for his dog's actions (because of his neglect)

Get well soon and give my best to Heidi :)

Oh My God! Thank God you and the puppies are OK!

What did the dog's owner say?! Has the dog attacked before? What did he think he was doing on your property in the first place?! Did he at least exhibit a few dumptruck loads of remorse?!

My blood is boiling just READING that.

That's one of the scariest things I've read in a while! I'm so glad you and Heidi made it out with relatively minor injuries. I certainly hope that man is held responsible for every penny of your bills. Does the dog have any other bites on record?

Oh my gosh how awful. I can't imagine how terrifying that would be. I am so glad no one was injured any worse.

People should keep their dogs at home!!!!!

Take pictures of your injuries---then you have proof in case he fights the lawsuit.

I hope your better soon. How scary!

I feel so sorry for you as I went through the same thing. It is the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life. And I was just going to check my mail when I got attacked. I still can't go out front my house, and it has been a year. :(

Hope you heal quickly and I hope you get that b*stard for everything he's got! I would also sue if you can for emotional distress (if that's what they call it)

Has the dog that attacked you been destroyed? It wouldn't have a chance here... it would be gone already.

Glad you are okay. Living in the country as we do now, I don't walk to the dogs just in case. They have a big yard to run in.
