Mine was bad, and I do mean bad. :(

I was sitting at my desk at work, I work at a bank, and I happened to look up in time to see this man coming towards me wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, these big sun glasses, surgical gloves, jeans, and tennis shoes.

My first thought was "What kind of idiot wears that get up on a 80 degree day?".

When he stopped and pulled the bandana over his face my next thought was "OH CRAP" (only not in those words) and then thought "Get away from your desk NOW!"

So I very nonchalantly got up and acted as though I had paperwork on the back counter and didn't notice how he was dressed. He sat down at my desk and I walked down very calmly to my co-worker at the other desk and leaned down and informed him we were about to be robbed.

he looked over the divider and said "OH CRAP!" (again not in those words) and about that time another customer came up and she started to look at him like "Hmm what's up with you". She even said to me and Eric, "this doesn't look good" and I shook my head at her like "NO GO AWAY".

She proceeded to lean on the post out front of the bank and made sure he saw her looking at him. I then yelled as loud as I could to draw attention to the bank "SIR I'LL BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE".

At that time he panicked and got up and walked out the store through a different entrance than he came in. We know he had an accomplice because we have him on video making a cell phone call and he exited a different door than he came in through.

I spent the rest of the day with security reviewing tapes and being de-stressed needless to say. I have never, ever been so scared in my life!!! I hope they get him because we are all now a nervous wreck!

Who in their right mind tries to rob a bank in the middle of a grocery store?????????? YIKES!!!!!!!!!!

So, how was YOUR day? :yikes:

I'm having a beer, or two, or three, or more so I can sleep tonight!! UGH! Anyone have any Miss Clairol to cover this grey I have in my hair now? Or a pooper scooper,,,,,,I'll need one to unbury my desk tomorrow!

That's crazy! I'm so glad everyone(including you) is ok!

My good friend's mom told me how when she was pregnant with my friend, she was in the bank during a bank robery and held hostage! She was OK though and everyone made it out safe. Crazy stuff!

I am so glad things didn't go any further! I am glad everyone is o.k. People are unraveling and losing control in our society and it is scary ; especially when your right in the middle of it.

Oh yeah my day was BLAH but who cares :)

You did good :)

I think you win the Crappiest Day Award today.

Scary to think that as economic times get worse and as winter hits and fuel costs and groceries skyrocket we're going to be seeing more and more of this.

Have fun in the coming days. I imagine you're going to be spending a great deal of time talking to FBI sorts . . . talk about party guys . . . .

That does sound like a bad day...but not all that bad really! You handled it with great aplomb and clarity of mind, which isn't something that everyone has under stress. You did exactly the right things! The robbery didn't happen, no one got hurt...I think that's a pretty awesome day right there!

Wow you were very lucky

in any retail job we have always been taught to just give them the money they ask for... focus on features and then call the cops after. Money can be replaced. Your life cannot.

I am so glad it worked out in your favor this time. Being in a grocery store probably helps.

That is scary...you REALLY managed to keep your head and be safe, though. Glad everything went okay.
