a) Fourth of July is coming up

b) I have 2 primarily white dogs

c) I'm bored and feeling creative

You get the picture ;) :yikes:

What would be the easiest way to add red and blue to their coats? I was thinking Koolaid, but I don't want the dye to rub off against the furniture (would it?). Also, I don't want it to run off in the rain or anything, since it's been wet here lately.

Help? lol.

I'm using this:

Duffâ„¢ Cake Graffiti

It's just food colouring in a spray can. Easy to apply and washes out fairly easily. Just make sure it's dry (use cold air hairdryer) before letting them run around... It's non-toxic of course and has no taste.

Kool aid red usually ends up pink. Once it dries, it shouldn't wipe off on your furniture, but your dog will smell fruity. :D

Most crested people I've talked to use Manic Panic. It might last a little longer than you're looking for though.

I used an etsy seller for my dye, but she no longer makes it :(, so I've been looking at alternatives, too.

Petedge has dye gels that might be worth a shot.

I was going to use manic panic for izzie, but i realized it was only for one day so i went with something that washes out easily.

Thanks!

I just need to make sure I use something that won't rub off or cause permanent coat damage.

Rory is very waterproof so I'm not sure how that would work.

There is a lady around here who constantly "kool aids" her white poodle and makes it pink. The dog doesn't seem to mind.

I'm sure Ian will freak out if I dye them. lol.

I drew on Chloe's coat with black non-toxic marker a few weeks ago... I just added a little spot since we joke she is "one spot merle" Chloe. So I gave her two spots ;)

Ian wanted me to wash it off of her because it was "ugly." I thought it was creative! ;)

I've used the stuff from Petedge but it lasted a month on my poodle boy.

You can try Blow Pens or chalk as well.

I've been wanting to experiment with some pink or purple in Mia's tail and feet but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough! I just want something that won't last long at all.

I used chalk to dye my waterproof orangedog green for St. Patricks day. It lasted pretty long, so maybe not ideal for you.. it didn't rub off on anything though, and I'm sure if I had bathed him at least once, it would have come off sooner. I was lazy.

I think poodle people use blow pens and chalk, or Manic Panic.

I long for a white dog...it would have a purple tail at all times:p

I picked up some different colored spay cans today at Michaels, also some stencils.

Can't wait to try it...Mer *hint hint* ;)

What kind of chalk and how do you use it? I seriously want to try a punk look on Mia. :p
I have sidewalk chalk, those really big sticks of chalk, and soak one end of it in water for a bit. Take the bit of hair you want coloured in the palm of your hand and rub the chalk on it over and over until a decent amount is on the fur. Brush the excess colour off and you're done.

I wonder if Manic Panic would work on Ada's white.... I want to dye her to look like a fox, but if I'm going to do it I want it to look GOOD. ;)
