No not Tavish, but a family member of mine has a little dog that has a broken leg and tendon. This weekend I learned that one of my family members was mad at something or someone and took her anger out on her little Chihuahua. The little dog is named Little Bit. When afraid Little Bit will hide under the couch, so to get Little Bit out she grabbed the dog by its hind legs and jerked him out breaking one of his hind legs and tearing a tendon in the other. The dog needs serious surgery but she is unable to pay for it and cannot pay for pain meds, so the dog is left as is. I don't understand because she really loved her dog. It was her pride and joy and she broke its leg :(. She is unwilling to searh for vets that would offer payment plans and she doesn't want to give the dog to a rescue or to a humane society. I'm not sure what I can do. She still has the dog. It's can't walk and cries a lot. This makes me mad

I know you guys don't like to hear stories like this but I had to vent. Sorry I haven't been around much. School has kept me busy. Tavish is doing great. He is already 7 months old. I'll take pics of him tomorrow.

I think the only thing you can do is call animal control (or whoever deals with this kind of stuff in your area) to come and take the dog away from her.

Really? I might just do that. I know she still has the dog as of today. I hope they don't put the dog down. He can be fixed and given to another home.

Heck, give me the information and I will call animal control first thing tomorrow morning. I will make sure she gets charged with neglect.

I'm looking up Chi rescues in her area before calling humane society tomorrow. The humane society in her area is a kill shelter and will put down sick and injured dogs. I want to tell her about these rescues and pray that she'll let them help.

This is very upsetting:( Why would they do this? Then to allow the little dog to suffer! I can't believe the horrible things I have been hearing lately. Call any place that can get that poor baby help.

I tried calling her and they are not home. So I will try again later.

I'm not sure why. She's never hurt this dog in the past or maybe she has but it hasn't gotten to the extent that it's now in. I know they had another dog that had hip displaycia and it died in their backyard and the humane society came and got the dog. It had hip displaycia for so long that it couldn't use the bathroom or get up. I didn't know the dog had this but apprently it had this for months and it got worse. I know hip displaycia can be fixed. It just gets worse.

Grammy, she has grown children.

Even if they do end up putting the dog down... it is better than leaving it to suffer unfortunately. BUT I really hope that if a shelter gets involved that they will do anything they can to rehabilitate and get the dog off to a new home.

ETA:yes I would definitely try a CHI rescue first if the shelter is a kill shelter... but either way... that dog needs to be out of this womans "care"
