Let's see your blizzard photos!!

This one shows the craziness of the wind in this storm. Our side of the street is pretty clear, but the wind blew all the snow to the other side of the street! My building is the one with no snow on the stoop, nice! :)

Other side of the street:

New Englanders! Let's see your blizzard pictures!!

:yikes: This is one of those moments where I'm glad we don't live in New England anymore. ;)
I guess no one is going to rite aid today.

I have a few friends in Rhode Island that can't leave their property because power lines and trees are down in the driveway and no one can get to them :(

Hopefully this will work, that's a friend's backyard. Those lumps are a minivan and WV Rabbit.

We got 31.9 inches (81cm) in Portland which beat the record set in 1979 for the city. There was so much wind, though, that there are some places as high as 4 and 5 feet (121cm-152cm)!! Remember, we had NO snow before this storm because the rain we got a few weeks ago washed it all away!

We got 35 cms of snow. We had to shovel 4 times yesterday. Ryan AND I got the truck stuck 3 times on roads and then stuck at the bottom of my driveway. Had to dig
out. A neighbor of mine drove his snowmobile around lol. People just ditched cars around here. People on the 401 (biggest highway in Ontario) had to shovel their way off the roads.

We shoveled out the deck first so we could make sure the hot tub was ready to get into after shoveling. The snow was covering all our doors so we had to go out a window to clear the doors first. Husband has a snow blower so he did the driveways and I did the decks and stairs which were pretty hard. We only got about 2 feet. but the drifts made it seem so much worse. We never lost power so that was a giant plus.

Ugh.

Roads here still aren't plowed, and the highways are still closed. They couldn't plow because everyone needed to work friday, and the snow came so fast that everyone got stranded/stuck trying to drive home. Emergency vehicles took the stranded drivers to shelters, but tons of the cars are still just there, buried. The plows are trying to go around them . And yesterday tons of people tried to drive their freakin' sedans in 3+ feet of snow on unplowed streets, so there was tons and tons of backed up traffic behind stuck/spun out cars, and now even if the plows do run the snow is so packed down it doesn't matter.

It's 45 degrees here and raining, now. I was hoping it would melt the snow, but no such luck. I've been stuck inside for 3 full days, minus going with my dad in the h2 hummer to get my brother to vet's office to feed the resident animals. It's about a 4-5 minute drive usually...took us an hour and 15 minutes to find a way there.

I am not amused.
