I personally don't like my dogs to sleep in bed with me because I like to have room to stretch out. As it is, I have a cat who insists on fighting me for mattress space (not to mention my husband). Anyway, since Murray has come to live with us, I have tried to teach him not to get into bed with us. So this is what he does: he will jump up on the foot of the bed and then he does this army crawl real slow all the way up to my pillow, he'll kind of stare at me for a minute, then he lays his head down on my pillow and goes to sleep. I don't have the heart most of the time to kick him out! Sigh, I think I'm stuck with him.

How about everyone else - do you sleep with your dogs?

Rarely. We had all three of them in bed with us last night. Maverick didn't even lay down he just stood over us like a big black god - I mean dog - and then left. LOL Mikey gets the most cuddle time in bed. Nanook does too but not when she's bleeding like now. I like my room too.

Theoretically no, lol! Not when Charley's home. If he's out of town one of the grrrrls will usually sneak up into the bed after I'm asleep and lay between me and the door. At least they make it look like they're doing it to guard me, lol! Conniving little wretches. :)

I have to sleep in my recliner (squashed disks) and usually have at least 6 Manchesters using me as their heated water bed!!

No. I used to let him on my bed a lot but hair and he'd usually have something in his mouth that he'd be chewing on--whatever it was he'd leave a mess of it all over the bed.

And also, he was getting testy-- that was the main reason. When he gets older, I may.

I have everybody in bed with me and it's no big deal. But Ruby, the Mamma cat, tends to not want to "bond" that close. So, I put a pillow on a chair (that has arms and a back) next to the bed for her. I placed a fleecie blanket across that for her so it's a very soft, deep bed right next to us. She loves it... that's now "her place"....

I guess you are quite thankful they are tiny little Manchesters . . . I don't even want to think of trying to sleep with the grrrrrls laying on me. It's bad enough when one of them decides to sit in my lap, lol!

Bluedawg claimed a place down by my feet to sprawl out on, and the occasions the roommate is out for the night Bailey just pics a place and lays down. I do not share my pillow though.

I sleept with a bichon and a "big" dog.
2 dogs on my full-metress..plus me.
But my dogs lay on the bed for few minutes and jumps off and end up sleeping on their dog metress.
I actually like being with my dogs, sleeping with them, being squashed.
Think in a brighter way-- feel the warmth of your dog!

BOth my dogs sleep on my bed with me. They are the ones with the ability to sleep in a little ball but instead they stretch out. Lucas is usually at the foot of the bed sleeping on my feet (making them fall asleep) and chloe is stretched out next to me. But sometimes it gets too hot for lucas so he sleeps in his bed right next to mine.

I'm suppose to crate train my dog...:rolleyes:but... he cries at night, so I will make a small bed on the floor (the dog isn't allowed in my room thanks to DAD  ) and have him sleep with me...

That is TOO cute! Just picturing that is a - dooor - ableeee.
For your question.. my puppy sleeps on any part of the carpet in my room he wants too, I gave him a small little pillow that he sometimes uses as a pillow when he's not attempting to bite it to shreds. When he's older I'll let him sleep on the feet of my bed :)

Chyna doesn't sleep in our bed yet because so far she thinks it's a great place to PLAY! She does nap with me on the couch, though and I have to fight for a piece of the pillow.
When she gets older, she will definately sleep in bed with us. She is wonderfully cuddly when she's asleep!

My kelpie sleeps with me, usually if I sleep on my side she will squash herself against my back but I usually push her down to my feet. She has such a thin layer of fur I feel I have to let her sleep with me. If she wasn't a "blue" kelpie, she would be warm enough to sleep on a dog bed with Azlan. I've tried having him up on the bed with me, but he's just got TOO much fur so, lol.

No way. Not enough room for me, my husband and the cat(s) as it is. Boris tries though, but we made him go down. It will probably be another battle when Tips is old enough not to sleep in the crate anymore...

Nope, the girls aren't allowed on the furniture, and if I allowed them all to sleep on my bed, soon I'd be sleeping on the floor!! The bed is too small for someone who is 5'3" and three medium-large doggies. Tippy sleeps on her bed right next to mine, and Colby and May sleep downstairs in their crates with their beds inside. We're planning on going camping with one or all of them soon, and since I'm their main caretaker, and the rest of my family probably don't want a big slobbery dog sleeping next to them, my girls would sleep next to me. I don't mind being slobbered on, I'm used to it LOL :D.

I let my dog sleep with me because he nothing but a big baby. plus I had all his brother and sister sleep with me when they were little because they were cold and the mother did not take care of them so I had 8 tiny puppies sleeping with me.
