Yes the dogs are allowed on my bed even though it's tiny and Taz gets kicked off 20 times a night because I can't move my legs! Fudge and Scamp are more sensible and stay near the top of the bed. Scamp either sleeps under the covers or on top of my pillows. Fudge sleeps next to me on top of the covers and usually ends up being an extra pillow for me. They'll all get off when they're told except for scamp who stops to give me a dirty look at making him move from his comfy spot. Aura won't be allowed to sleep on my bed until she's spayed because I don't want another accident.

They have been known to do it, but they don't spend the entire night with me. They either leave in the middle, or join me in the middle of the night.

When it's a 100 lb dog on a twin size bed, you're screwed.

Sawyer will come up right as I get into bed and go to his spot at the foot and keep my feet warm. He'll jump down sometime after I fall asleep and do his nightly patrol routine. He'll usually hop back up sometime around dawn before I wake up and then we do our daily cuddle before I get out of bed.

Our dogs aren't allowed to sleep in our bed. The thought of all the dirt and hair bothers me.

Sharing a Queen size bed with my two isn't that bad. However, sharing a twin bed? Less comfortable. And a couch? That gets a little annoying.

No matter what our sleeping vessel is, Pig is going to be curled up against my side under the covers. Bear usually sleeps on the other side of my bed with his head on the pillow, but can not have any covers on top of him. Sometimes he'll sleep towards the foot of the bed. If we're on a twin or couch he sleeps on top of my legs. If I move around too much and start to kick him he'll either rearrange himself or go sleep on the other couch.

Abby sleeps on top of the bed if it's hot and under the covers at other times. I remember when she came home to me, I thought, 'there is no way you are sleeping on my bed', and then fast forward a month and she climbed out of her x-pen/bed beside my bed and hopped into bed with me. And there she has stayed ever since except for the occasional overnight stay in a crate to assure me she can do this if the event ever arises that she needs to be in there. She loves her crate well enough, but she'd never choose it over my bed.

Jack is allowed to sleep wherever he wants in my room (he's babygated in there at night) - sometimes he chooses his basket, sometimes he chooses his crate, but more often than not, he's at the foot of my bed or curled up behind my knees - which is oh-so-comfortable, let me tell you.

My opinion always changes with this. I like Duke sleeping with me because I like the snuggles before I fall asleep. To actually go to sleep though, he needs to be out of my way completely. He usually lies beside me, head on my other pillow and leaves me alone. McGruff sleeps on the bed when he stays with me and is the WORST dog to sleep with. He is exactly what the "reality" picture in the OP is. He's all over me, kicks me, fidgety, doesn't settle to sleep unless I pet him for a little bit... just horrendous. He's lucky I love him.

but omg the hair. Dukr sheds buckets and he's not always the cleanest dog. It's gross to sleep in and requires me to wash my sheets way too often imho.

The malts sleep in their own beds. That's how they've always slept like. They are totally fine with it & so am I :)

One of my cats sleeps with me, the other cat sleeps with my sister. Dogs are not allowed in the bed. They can sleep on the bed if I am in the room, but otherwise, the baby gate is closed on the bedroom so only cats can get in.

Red used to sleep in my bed. I went through a phase where I kicked her out of the bed for awhile, but now looking back at things wish I wouldn't have cause I lost her so suddenly. She was allowed back in the bed about a week before she went. LoLa is allowed to sleep in the bed with me, I love her and love having her right there with me. Judge sleeps on the foot of it ocasionaly when I am upset but other than that he lieks his dog bed on the floor!!

Quinn is a bed dog, if it's not too warm in which case she gets overheated and jumps off. If my mom is home with Dally she sleeps in my moms room with them (kind of sad for me, LOL, but she started going in there at night because of Dally when she was a few months old). If we're home alone she sleeps with me. She's great to sleep with, sleeps in the bend of my legs, doesn't wake up early. When she wakes up she'll crawl (lol too sleepy to use her legs) up to my face, snort and smile at get silly with me for a bit, and then if I'm not ready to get up she'll go back to bed with her head up near mine.

At my boyfriends, I don't know if it's because she LOVES him or if it's because she's not as settled but she's way more clingy on the bed. Takes up a lot more room, pushes against me, and wants to sleep on our legs. I think I had to ask her to move or tell her to get right off about 8 times last night, no lie! She was really obnoxious LOL, worse than she usually is there!

All of ours sleep in bed with us!

Emma sleeps on my pillow. Rylie, Chloe, and Tucker all sleep under the covers against us. And Rory sleeps against Ian on his side of the bed... usually his arm is wrapped around him lol.

In the summer, Rory tends to sleep on the floor, though.

I used to have a no tolerance policy of animals in my bed when I was sleeping. Mainly this was because I had a twin size bed and either a.) the dogs would be on top of me in the most uncomfortable way and /or be wallowing around and b.) the cats would get pissy if I accidentally bumped them while they were sleeping.

Now, I don't really mind anymore. There have actually been a few times that I wanted Chloe to sleep with me (I needed a cuddle), but it is so ingrained in her to not sleep on my bed that she hopped off after a few minutes. I still don't like the cats sleeping with me, but that is because they typically want pet in the middle of the night and that is a no-no. When I'm at my boyfriend's, his dog routinely sleeps right by my legs at the foot of the bed and I don't mind at all.

As long as the said animal can lay down and go to sleep and not wake me up/wallow around/ask for pets/get in my bubble, they're fine on the bed.

If I'm alone, Tiffany sleeps in the bed with me. She usually sleeps on the other side of my bed (queen size) near the foot. When my boyfriend is over, she sleeps in her doggy bed, which is in my room, on the floor next to my side of the bed.

Frodo comes and goes. Usually he starts on the bed for a little while, but when we wake up he is almost always on his own bed.

Ryan has asked that future dogs not be allowed on the bed, and if I ever have another sheddy dog like Frodo I definitely don't want it on the bed. So any new dogs will have to find alternative sleeping areas.

I used to sleep with all three of my dogs, in a queen sized water bed:

Joe, yellow Lab 95 pounds
Blackie, Lab/Beagle 55 pounds
Gus, Pit/Golden/?? 75 pounds.

Gus and Joe would sleep butt to butt and lie up against me, and it was very comfortable. Blackie did some weird thing where she would hang her head over the end of the bed to the point her nose was about 4-6" from the floor, so she didn't take up much room. Later on, when Gus was an only dog, he would put his head on my shoulder and I would wake up with a dead arm quite often.

These days King sleeps with me a lot, he's like sleeping with a corpse, he hardly ever moves. Molly walks around a lot and seems to get hot, so King (And I thank him for doing it, I get guilty when I do it) finally just decided she had to go. She sleeps on the couch most of the time, but once in a while she will spend a couple of hours in the bed with us, but eventually, she moves around or does the spin once too often and King stares her off the bed. My GF came over recently and I had both of my dogs, along with her dog, "Heather", one of the bigger female Labs I've seen in a long time, all piled up together. It was ok for a while, but eventually Molly started panting, and King and Heather stared at her and off she went, to the food and then to the couch, where she could spread out a lot better anyway. King and Heather (Not the right name for her, IMO) seem to both be really compatible, sleep wise, they both sleep a lot, and sleep very deeply. Last time she was over, I woke up with both Heather and King in the middle of dreams. Heather was in between me and my GF, and King was on my right, barely on the bed, and they were both hitting me on the face with their front legs. I let them finish up and them moved around enough to make them get up and reset themselves. They were both back to sleep in a couple minutes, it took me about an hour. I wish I could sleep like they do.

I love bed dogs <3

Jack sleeps on the foot of my bed when I'm home. Then on the morning he'll crawl up between Rich and I for cuddles (or begging us to get out of bed and feed him).

When I'm not home all four sleep with my parents. I'm told that Jack sleeps up next to my mom the entire night and won't sleep on the end no matter what. Somtimes when Rich isn't home I try to get Jack to sleep next to me or cuddle and he wkn't. :( Micki, Mini & Kyra all sleep under the covers.
