That's gorgeous!!! I love the progress threads btw. I like seeing everyone's process and how the work comes together. Very cool.

Thank you so much for all of your comments. Here's two more pics. I'm pretty much completed with the painting portion of my project. I may add a few touchups. I may also add a little cream or yellow to my yucca plant so it doesn't look so absolutely bright white.

Also... I still have to finish the rest. I'm going to wrap leather strapping around the base of the horn about an inch and a half to 2 inches up each horn. Also going to find a place where I can buy imitation eagle feathers that I'll string into the leather strapping. Also... I have two dreamcatchers that I'm going to be putting in the eye sockets. Each dream catcher has three tiny feathers hanging down from them.

Here's the finished painting portion

and here's the same thing only a little zoomed out

Another update. Allie suggested on facebook that I add some dark brown or black in the white parts so they don't distract from the rest of the painting. I still have to add another coat of black... but I think it looks much better this way

Alrighty... another update

We added the leather strapping to the horns and added the imitation eagle feathers. Also drilled a few tiny holes around the eye sockets and weaved in these dreamcatchers that one of my best friends got me for my birthday.

All we have left to do it polyurethane on the horns, leather straps, and the imitation eagle feathers and then Josh is going to put a mount on the back for me. I'll take the FINAL picture when it's completely done and up on the wall.

One thing I have learned though is that next time I'm going to put polyurethane on the feathers BEFORE I hang them from the horns to seal them so I don't have to keep fixing them.

So... here's some pics

Josh holding the skull up so you can see what it would look like on the wall

I used flash on these next two pics so bear with me...
Here's a closer up so you can kind of see the dreamcatcher in one of the eye sockets.

One more of it on the table

Side note: I think I'm going to start doing a bunch more of these and selling them... going to try and do some custom designs for people so if anyone is interested or knows anyone who might be interested in one let me know. I will ship them since I know someone out here who is absolutely amazing at packing stuff.

This is so neat! My boyfriend is an illustrator and I showed this to him. I'm trying to convince him, maybe, to start doing some work on animal skulls.

Yours looks so great
