What does your vet say about her weight? If you can feel her ribs slightly, borderline obesity sounds a bit strange.

If she really is overweight, you might just try cutting back on the amounts of food she gets and use smaller treats, making sure they're high quality, organic and human grade, just as you would with her food.

If she's still growing, and since she's so active, I don't think I'd even worry about cutting back. Puppies need fuel to grow, and they'll go through stages where they look like they're just gaining weight. If you notice that she's sleeping a little more and more soundly, you can bet she's having a growth spurt.

Really, since she's still growing, I'd worry more about her not getting enough food than too much.

Shiva went through a stage where she would eat everything that got in her way. I had to put her outside to give Kharma a shot at some food. She was looking a tad chunky, too. Suddenly, she's stopped eating like that and has stretched out into her weight.
You've got a much better feel for your dog's growth than anyone else, so you just have to use your own common sense. You can tell, too, if she's carrying excessive subcutaneous fat.
