or old dogs can learn tricks..either way, i finally got around to taking this one. mary didn't learn to sit pretty until after Bronki died. I tried so hard to get her to understand and even tho Bronki would sit pretty for the longest period of time, she simply didn't know how to try..then one day she did it. Now she is so proud when she does..and she is holding it longer and longer.
Anybody else got a pick of sitting pretty? each dog seems to have it's own unique style. My mom once had a dog that i thought looked like a butterfly when she did..and Vic, well we are still trying to get good pic of this.

Ive been trying to get Blue to do that I call it Be a Poodle, maybe thats why he hasnt done it? Ill try Sit Pretty see how he likes that.

The more I look at your Mary the more an more she and Bluedawg could pass as litter mates. Ild even bet they are close to the same size now that Blues stopped growwing, for now.

here is an upclose study of her face.. i painted this from life not photo..she doens't look like this now.. her face has aged so much..the sleekness is changing dramatically now that she is 12..have you seen the younger pics of her in my gallery? when she had her pups she was probably closest to bluedawg's age.

I saw her pic as a pup Ill go look again. If the neighbors werent there to let the dogs out when the roommates where out of state Im sure they would think Blue was older than he is.

Mary weighs 70lbs..her son was 80. She needs to lose about 5 more lbs..now that she has arthritis and cant run anymore it is critical that she not eat one extra calorie which is breaking her heart. Most of her life she was slender and sleek...kept herself to fighter weight. That gurl could run too! not as fast as Vic, the labrador part of her slowed her down a tiny tad.

Bluedawgs a little over 60lbs at about 11 months give or take.

He aint as fast as Bailey or some of the other dogs round here, I thing the wiemerraner down the street is at least as fast as Bailey. Blue has more power than speed, the huskey in him loves to run.

no undercoat means the coat lies flat..no fuzz whatsoever, like a doberman.and undercoat is a fine fuzz that provides insulation between the longer hairs causing a somewhat to extreme fuzzy coat..i don't see any husky in blue..i see birddog/labrador.the thin ear cartlidge, color, and especially that rounded domb shaped head is pointer..not lab. labs are more boxy..where a husky is a pointed elongated muzzle...you draw these guys you study skull shape intensely..
some people cross on purpose hoping for a pointing lab which is just silly cause Vic swims as well as any lab i ever knew..

Ill have to ask around to find his parents the folks I got him from are USAF and have been shipped to another base out of state.

The coat on the 2 dogs here are totally different. Baileys is totally flat and smooth, Blue may not be as fluffy as a Huskey but he does seem to have 2 types of hair 1 flat and 1 kind of fuzzy under that.

I was told that Alaskan Huskeys where bred more for traits than physical shape. Ill get pics if I track down his parentage.

id love to see! there is a lab doberman mix at the off leash park that several times out of the corner of my eye i thought was mary..because of the shine....this dog looks exactly like her but no white. I didn't see the pointer head in Shaffer..i did the chest for it is like Victor's, but that was the first thing the vet said..got some bird dog with that coon hound. Now i look at the carriage of his ears and the shape of the top of his skull wondering how i missed it.

aww, how cute
we have a problem teaching Buster that one because he sits on his bum, not his feet, so you get him to sit of balance a little and he just rolls backwards. lol
