Hey! Just an update! I went to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Website, and contacted a lady in my area, she told me that they have handling meetings not too far from me, and she invited me to come with Dixie!! :) I'm SOOO excited! I'm waiting for a responce from her on how much it costs if anything though. My parents say if it's not too much that they'd be happy to take me there! It's every Tuesday I think. She also told me that they have several Juniors in their class, and they were all invited to the Eukenuba show in CA!! I don't know if they were invited to take their dogs there, or just to watch, but either would be an AWESOME experience! Also, the breeder is going to mail the pedigree to me. She sent it in an email, but it was too small to print out, so she's going to mail me a copy. From what I can see on it though, there are SEVERAL champions in it(and I mean ALOT). That's just her dad's pedigree though, I'm going to ask her if she has them mom's pedigree also. I'll try to get the attachment to show up here. -Warning, it's pretty small. Thanks again for all the help!!! :)

Look at Dixie's sister Riley! She looks almost IDENTICAL to her!

The breeder sent me that picture, and my jaw dropped! That's Dixie's sister, Riley Belle! Her and her family live about 2 and a half hours from us in Crossville, TN!

As it's been said before, you don't have to be 18 to show in regular classes. If you have never shown before than it would be best to start out in juniors to learn the ropes, but it's not a requirement. I have shown against many very young handlers in the regular classes.

It would also be great if you could find a respected breeder or judge to evaluate your dog for the conformation ring. Champions in a pedigree are not an indicator that your dog is show quality, they are simply proof that your dog's ancestors were.

Good luck and enjoy your handling classes, they are tons of fun!

i would have a judge look her over before i started showing, just because showing is soooo expensive, so a judge would be able to tell you whether it was worth it or not.
also since her dad was not a champion himself, i would try and get her mums pedigree

Thanks. I'm working on getting the mom's pedigree. I believe there should be some breeders, and experience handlers in the class, so I'm going to get their opinion. ;)

If you're going to show, definitely do the ears. They are very cute with all the hair on them, but when they are shaved/tipped, her head will look much neater. A good mentor will help you learn how to groom her well - she probably won't look show-ready on your first shot. It takes some time before you'll be really great at groomimg her.

Finally got both pedigrees in the mail! She has over 80 CH in her pedigree!!! I can attempt to post them here. I also got some lovely shots of the girls in the yard. I'll post soon.
