Am I the only one that thinks this movie was stupid?? I'm still not even sure what the whole thing was about. Were those other life forms at night? And at the end when they go home.... why does it seem like the dad doesn't know they're home?? It shows him asleep on the couch and the room is bright and cheery. Then it flashes to them in the room but it no longer shows him and the room is dim and almost cloudy in appearance. Are they dead and visiting the house and think they're alive??? I was soooo confused.

I was very confused after watching this movie as well. It was based on a video game, and takes place in different dimensions. There are supposed to be 3 worlds- our world, the silent hill world (fog), and then the dingy, dirty looking world (like what they flash to in the school when it is rusty looking). At the end of the movie, the mother and daughter do make it back to the house... but they are still in the foggy silent hill world, while the dad is in our world.
In order for the mother to return to our world, she needs to kill the daughter.
That is how it was explained to me, anyway.

I watched Silent Hill last night and was totally confused and thought it was really stupid. It didn't make much sense to me at all and I wish I hadn't bothered to watch it!
The ending really made me mad because it just left you hanging and confused. I don't like movies like that and if by some crazy chance they come out with a silent hill 2, I won't be watching it!
