Sick Puppy

So, my mom has a little Miniature Schnauzer that is only 7 weeks old. She weighs a whopping 1 pound 8 ounces. Well, she's very sick. And she's putting up a very big fight for being so small. So, she could use some of those famous Chaz vibes.

She got her this past Saturday from a pretty good breeder, according to her. I don't know much about the breeder, though. I had only seen the puppy once before she called me on Tuesday night and had me come and get the puppy and take her to an emergency vet clinic. She was in bad shape, though. She hadn't been eating, she had diarrhea, and she threw up three times before I could even get her to the emergency clinic. Her glucose dropped to 22.

Well, I have some bad news. After putting up quite a fight, Shivers passed away Wednesday morning. She was being fed every hour at that point to help keep her blood sugar up, but it just wasn't enough.

Yeah, my little sister's heart is just broken. My mom is already talking about getting her a new puppy. It was hard for my little sister because she didn't really get to play with her puppy the entire time she had her.

What did the breeder say ?? After only having her 3 days , she should get her money back !

My mom chose not to ask for her money back. She said that she should have said no when she saw how small the puppy was. And she decided to keep her and try to save her, so she is out a couple grand in vet bills. But she said since it was her decision, she wasn't going to try to get her money back.

best wishes to this puppy. That weight is truly shocking. A 13" Beagle puppy weighs close to four pounds by that age!
