Hello,
Elektra, our 7 month old/42lb lab mix has been a bit sick. Yesterday she was sleepy all day and began to have diarrhea at lunchtime. After the second time, I called the vet and they said to bring her in because of the heat here, her lethargy, and the fact that she just came home from a kennel stay. She vomited on the way, this is not so unusual because she gets carsick.

No fever, the vet didn't feel any foreign object upon palpitation. Suggested that maybe the kennel didn't feed her the food that we packed and that maybe the change in food once she got back home was at fault (which would make me really, really mad considering I even packed it in single serve baggies for them). The vet gave Pepcid and Flagyl and said to give her bland diet for a few days.

Once home, I gave the meds, which she vomited up a little bit later. Called the vet, they said no food, no meds until morning. No puke, no diarrhea all night. This morning she woke up more playful. I gave her the meds, she threw up the Flagyl. Vet said feed her rice/chicken and then give the Flagyl again half hour after eating. So far she has kept both down (it's been two hours) but she still seems a bit "out of it".

Here's the thing. When I told my husband about our day last night, he said that 2-3 nights ago she got hold of a chicken wing bone. He took it from her and looked in her mouth, but it was already cracked. I told the vet and they said just keep an eye on her.

Anyone have similar experiences? What should I be looking for? I figure once she poops we're in the clear since she had no food for 24 hours, but what else?

Thanks and sorry for the wordiness.

I have no idea i am sorry. Your vet has ruled out the biggies, especially with no fever. If she kept the meds down that is good. I can tell you from expereince that flagyl is something u don't want to take on an empty stomach.
