first post here. just surfed in.
ok just got a lab pup about a week ago for christmas. the first couple of days he was doing fine now the last two days he has been throwing up after he eats. i can only think of a couple of reasons he does this.
1) he got into something, chewed it up and swollowed it.
2) he is adj to the change of food style. yesterday i switched to what the he was eating at parents home.
3) he gets really excited and eats too much too fast.

i came up with three b/c after him throwing up i waited for a while and fed him a little bit just to see how he would handle it. he was fine.
he is not acting sick, hes running and playing with my minitature Dachshund.
any suggestions of what i can do or what might be going on. i was thinking more feeding and less food. thanks in advance.

The first thing I would is have him checked for worms. ASAP. Second, if you switch the food do it slowly. Mix the old one with the new one. Always. The third thing, it's a personal opinion. My puppies have the dry food available at all times until they are well on their feet.

Your observations that led to your third possibility are good. Be sure to tell your vet when you have him checked. You want to be sure there's nothing obstructing the food when he eats more than small amounts.

If everything's okay and he's just wolfing his food, keep feeding him in small amounts. It's really helpful if you can make the food "magically" appear in his dish when he's not around so that he gets the idea that there's always more food and he doesn't have to get it all at once. Remember, he's been competing with his littermates for food.
