I have a lot of hobbies...most I only dabble in and don't really have any "serious" ones.
Reptiles would be the first. Right now I only have four herps...I hope to expand my collection, but right now I'm really poor, moving into a manhattan apartment, and going to school full time in few months, so it'll have to wait, probably until we get a house where I can have a room or closet or basement all for the animals.
Sapphira, my approx. 1 year old Antilles Pink-Toe
Adonis, 1.5 year old female Amel Corn.
I've also got Aidan, an almost three year old Bearded, and another corn snake.
Cooking/baking. I cook a lot...do dinner parties and brunches and stuff. It's expensive to buy a lot of food, though, even just to cook for the family. Here's what I made at Thanksgiving...most of those dishes I did. It was my first turkey!
I'm a filmmaking major, so it's not really a hobby, but I guess I have a lot of "correlating" hobbies, like cinematography and costume design that aren't my major which I dabble in. These were just Halloween costumes. Collaboration between me and one of my friends. Designed, sewed/made, accessorized, and did makeup ourselves for all these costumes.
Fishing. I don't even have my own rod or anything, but I go a handful of times every summer with friends and usually catch some small stuff. This was the biggest one "I" ever caught...It was caught on a pole just hanging off a dock. (those are the friends i caught it with) We cooked him and the little guys we caught up nice. This is the fish I learned to clean and cut on.
NASTY picture of the fish guts after I helped gut it.
This goes along with cooking, too. Those fish are covered in flavors.
In the summer, I'm at the beach almost every day...so I guess it's a hobby. We swim, play frisbee or volleyball, collect shells, build castles, etc. Here's a starfish I found on my first "date" (it wasn't supposed to be a date, but it kind of turned out to be) with Zach. My mom told me it was good luck. I don't usually believe in luck, but I had the best summer of my life after that, and found it along with the man I'm going to marry.
Adventures. Dunno if it counts as a hobby...we kind of do Urban Exploring, but not really. We go to supposedly haunted places and spend hours looking at maps and online and in books trying to find cool, obscure places. Whether it's an abandoned military site or just a cool, unknown local restaurant, we call it "adventuring". This is a shot from Camp Hero (remember the "Montauk Monster"? This is where it came from. If you look it up, there's some pretty cool stories about it. I think they're mostly rumors.
I might put more *guilty*
