show dogs

when i get older im wanting to train dogs to be show dogs but idk where to start. can anyone give me any suggestions or books i could read?

A really good book is "How to Raise A Champion:A Beginners Guide To Showing Dogs"

Then I suggest you find a reputable breeder and see if he/she will mentor you in showing and breeding dogs. That would include, learning how to groom that breed, train, and practice time in the show ring with some of her dogs.

What time of showing are you talking about? Conformation, obedience, agility etc...

There are lots of good books on all sorts of stuff. But if you are into training dogs, I would start with the really good overall training/behaviour books, like Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson, The Other End of the Leash (now brain fart, can't remember) If Bones Should Rain From the Sky, Suzanne Clothier. Anything by Karen Pryor.
