Should I discourage this?

So lowla (Dachshund/Rat Terrier Mix) has this stuffed tiger that's a bit larger than her that she likes to bite on the face and hump vigerously. She's been spayed since she was 10 weeks, she's now a little over 6 months. At first I tried to stop her from humping it and then I got so tired of pulling her off it that I just gave up and now I let her do it to her hearts content. Sometimes she gets so into it she's grunting and panting afterwards. Is my dog weird? Should I stop her from doing that? Is she trying to mate with it or is she just dominating? She doesn't hump anyone or anything else, just that tiger. She never grabs onto it anywhere else, just bites its muzzle/face and goes to town.

i had a dog that did that to a pair of pink fuzzy slippers. Removed the slippers and that was the end of the behavior. She never did it to anything else.

I wouldn't do a thing if its a stuffed animal and would let her do it to her heart's content. On people, I'd discourage it.

I know someone with a spayed golden retriever who would do that to a toy. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it's only the stuffed toy. :)

How funny - we also had a big stuffed tiger that Auggie loved to bite, drag around, and hump...
But because he was a boy, he also had a tendancy to pee on things (or near them and ON my floor...) once he was done humping... so I did take it away. =P

guess you could always keep in in their room..and tell them that is a private thing.

lol, she drags it all over the living room floor. I don't really care if she does it, I just didn't know if it was like unhealthy for her to do so. Doesn't sound like it is so I guess I'll just let her do it. I only intervene when she stats running into things while doing it or making company uncomfortable, lol. Hey we all got some pent up energy we need to release now and then. Silly dog.
