Relieved? Confused? Mad? lol

So.... in October my cousin (who is in his 30s) left his wife. They divorced in december(?) or something like that. Anyways, they have two kids. One is a year younger than Jo and the other is probably 13.

His ex wife and him both have been partying which I think is a bit ridiculous and self centered considering they have kids to care for. And his ex already had a boyfriend right after.

Well, he kept leaving the kids with his parents (my aunt and uncle). They were already pretty angry with how he was conducting himself.

Anyways, a few weeks ago my aunt was approached by a friend of hers that my cousin had a girlfriend. And not only that, but that she was pregnant. So my aunt confronted her son and he said yes, that the girlfriend was already 6 months pregnant. I think my aunt about had a fit! She didn't even know he was dating.

Well, fast forward a few weeks. The baby was born a couple days ago. Um.... yeah.... 6 months? My aunt and uncle (though they feel like strangling their son) went to visit the girlfriend at the hospital. Well, the baby was full term and um.... VERY hispanic looking. Yeah, my cousin is not Hispanic. The mother kept saying suspicious things, but they stayed and chatted and took pictures, then came home and asked him about it. And he admitted to lying. The baby is not his, and she was pregnant before he started seeing her. He knew but he lied to everyone saying that the baby was his...

So uh... I don't know what to think. Why on earth would he lie about that? Gah, I'm so confused.

anyone write soap operas? :lol-sign:

This most definitely sounds like one...

Well, I would say you should be about everything:
relieved (that the baby isn't his)
confused (why he lied)
and mad (that he did lie and didn't tell the family)

What a queer situation. I couldn't imagine a divorce and then partying and then a new baby from a different father and then lying! Sounds like a walking, talking soap opera.

I have no idea... he already wants to adopt the baby. I think they need to be together a bit longer before he commits to this for the child's life.

Oh and btw, the girlfriend already has 3 children under 5. So that'd be six kids in total to support... sheesh Trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but it's a bit hard!

sounds like he needs to grow up and act his age.
Oh, I agree! If his parents haven't killed him first!

Just a fine guess, but watch him ditch the kids with the poor woman and break up with her, then buy a rundown apartment and buy BYB dogs and neglect those too. While we're at it, how about he goes down to the bar and drinks himself batty and abuses his dogs? Or he could stay perfectly happily with his "new family" and adopts a rescue. (-:

Does this fool realize that if he adopts (assuming the biological father gives up his rights) that he will be responsible for this child until it is 18? That means child support if this isn't forever?
