Yes, I have the impression that this is one of the numerous attempts to produce a healthier buldog, this time in size small.
Of the ones I have met, I feel the Victorian Bulldog is most successful. The ones I spent time with were active, had great dispositions, really looked like the bulldogs in Victorian era paintings, and were built in such a way that I believe they could participate successfully in agility.
I also know a fair number of bulldogs, which cause me to understand why so many people are trying to go back to the drawing board, so to speak.

Seems to me if you wanted an athletic, small, stocky Bulldog you'd just get a properly bred Frenchie. I've met a handful and they are in no way dogs that can't move or function properly. Brodie would jump over three feet high from a standing postion to get at a tug toy.
Although this is the first time I've seen Shorty Bulldogs, so I can't say much. I personally like the OEBKC or Leavitt "Olde English Bulldogges", if I were to purchase a "redone" Bulldog. Not only are the athletic, they are just gorgeous.

My favourite "redone" Bulldog has to be the Renascence Bulldogge. Very nice looking dogs. Most breeders seem to be into testing and titling in performance sports.
I don't see any health testing being done; but then again I haven't personally contacted them because I'm not looking at getting a pup anytime soon.

IMO...a breed bred purely for the goal of $$$ and attention.
Yes all purebreds are a blend of breeds, but after what someone that breeds these dogs have said, 7 generations and there is still no real consistency , i have to go with Mutt.
Nothing wrong with a mutt, but don't put a pretty tag on it and call it something else....

another junk redone bulldog. if you want a dog like the original before the pug was added you get a standard AB, or catch weight APBT or even am AM staff. of the redone bulldogs some of the leggier leavett & arkansas giant (EBXAPBT) are the only ones i've seen that had the leg & lean body to catch cattle all day day in & day out. the renaissance, the olde, the old tyme and some of the other stuff might do OKAY at manwork but will never reach the level of leggier more functional dogs. i don't know why people can't get it through their head that the greater the undershot the less functional the dog becomes.

Like Breeze said, the ear crops are inconsistent as well, which makes me question the specific look they want these dogs to have, for one.
Besides that, there's no consistency in the dogs themselves. They all look very different. Their muzzles range from very smushed, very flat with rolls of wrinkles, to a more protruding nose with no real visible wrinkles at all.
I don't know them so these are only assumptions, but the standard seems to be built around the dogs they breed, rather than the other way around.
