Even though the Essiac couldn't kill the cancer this time, I do give it credit for keeping her pain free to the very last and letting her go on her own time, peacefully. Charley said she hasn't so much as whimpered or indicated any wish for her pain meds since after the first week or so she was on it, and before then she'd been waking him up twice at night for them. That's worth so much, especially since we all know pain meds wear off between doses.
