Sheltie breeders?

A very close friend of mine is looking to get a Sheltie. We have exhausted shelters, and to be honest, she does want to show and compete in herding (possibly herding, anywho) with this dog. However, this is not my breed. I've never owned one, and have never spoken to any breeders, so I don't know any off-hand.

Anyone care to lend a helping hand? She is a ways off (somewhat) from being ready to buy. So no worries on litters. Thank you in advance if you can.

Is she in Virginia also? What area? How far out would she be willing to travel?

We're in the southeastern area of Virginia.
She has no problem traveling, as long as it's not clear across the country (though I'm sure she wouldn't mind shipping, if the breeder has good references, but I'd have to ask, and it'd have to be exceptional breeding, heh). She loves road trips, so, nah, travel isn't really a huge issue.

I'm sure Beanie is thinking of the same person. There is an incredible Sheltie breeder about 10 hours away from you in Illinois.

Her dogs have agility, conformation, and herding titles. In fact, she has her own sheep that she keeps for herding practice!

The kennel name Bronwyn has somebody in PA (I think?) breeding shelties, but I think they do confirmation almost exclusively... and the lineage of most of their dogs also seems to be purely in confirmation. It might be a good starting place, however, to find other breeders with Bronwyn lineage.

Acadia (it might be Arcadia?) is in central PA, and they do herding, agility, and confirmation - exactly what I like to see in a sheltie breeder.
There's Barwoods in NC, I like them a lot, but I'm not positive they do herding trials with their dogs...

Lochend is in West Virginia.
Sea Oak is located in or around Virginia Beach (I think?)

And then there is, of course, Auggie's breeder, who is absolutely wonderful, here in Illinois. ;>

I'd give you Trey's breeder's name, but I've lost contact and she got remarried so her name changed, she moved, etc. She was really good. She did conformation and several different sports with her dogs.

I'll have to check out those other sites, too.
