brushing him a lot should take care of most of the hair.

sometimes a change in diet can help. dogs on a high quality diet are known to shed less.

brushing, change of diet (sometimes works), shampoo specifically designed to reduce shedding.

I use a shedding comb and it seems to work pretty well. Also, I haven't tried it personally but the vet has food designed specifically for that. <---again, no personal experience, so I'm not sure about it.

Love your dog ... love the hair !! I'd rather vaccuum and swifter once a day and use a slicker on my dog than be dogless !

daily brushing. I use a variety of brushes on Hannah. I use a undercoat brush, a zoom groom, and a shedding rake on her and it helps. Also try changing your dog's diet (depending on what you feed your dog now). Also when I wash Hannah I have a special high velocity blowdryer and I blow her coat.

shedding depends on the breed, too. GSDs have a soft undercoat, but shed their outer coat year long.....my vacuum knows this well. so does the daily brush. soooooooo, a bit of doggie hair around is something I just live with. :) Addie is a husky mix, and sheds a couple bags worth of fur in late spring....with a little flying around for my pleasure all summer long. I've decided that besides daily brushings.......a good vacuum is the answer to happiness.

Some dogs just shed worse than others. I have a lab and she sheds 365 days a year. It never ends. I can brush her until my arm hurts and get enough fur to make a kitten and it still never stops. Mine is on a holistic, high quality diet, partially raw fed ... so it's not the food, it's the breed.
