I'm officially in LOVE with this dog

So I'm still pretty set on a Toller. However, I've decided to at least keep my options open and still look around. I'm putting in my adoption application at a few breed rescues so that I can be on file. My biggest thing is I want a dog that I can register with AKC and do agility. There are two other breeds I'm considering aside from a toller; border collie and australian shepherd. I'm pretty sure I will most likely end up with either a Toller or Aussie. Cheyanne was an aussie. Anyways... if I can find a purebred from a rescue I can still look into registering with AKC and still do agility. I was just browsing around on aussie rescues and found this girl. She's about 1.5 yrs old. I'd honestly truly prefer a puppy... but I couldn't help but do a double take on this one.

Tell me what you think.

I guess part of what my sister had said to me really got me thinking. I have absolutely nothing against breeders and if I don't find the right dog through a rescue I'm still going to be looking into a breeder. I'm still discussing tollers with the breeder I have talked about on a few occassions. I guess I just don't want to completely close my eye off to the possibility of a rescue and have the right dog blow right past me.

I've looked into toller rescue... the few that I found told me they currently don't have many and they have a huge waiting list. I'm still putting myself on the toller rescue waiting list.

She's gorgeous! You can find some amazing dogs on that site, it's one of my favorites to browse through when I feel like torturing myself with another dog I can't have.

Ok. I put in an application. We'll see what happens. I figure if it's not meant to be then it wont happen. But if they approve my application and she's still available then I might be making a flight to Houston, TX to meet her. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wow, I really hope it works out...

:) Good luck, and let me tell you now, Aussies are great agility dogs, even Mini Aussies, this coming from a Mini Ausie owner! :)

I hope you get this gal, keep us updated!

I spoke with the lady who is fostering her. She said that since she's pretty far from me she's a little reluctant to adopt further away in case it didn't work out. She's going to talk to their rep closer to me and they'll work on helping me find the right dog. So this little cutie isn't going to work out, but we'll keep looking. I'll keep you guys updated on my dog search situation.
