Seven Jailed For ‘Sadistic’ Dogfight

Seven men who took part in one of the most bloody, lengthy and gruelling dogfights ever witnessed were today given prison sentences ranging from four to six months. Six were also disqualified for five years from keeping dogs.

The two dogs who were fought at the premises in Alum Rock, Birmingham were so badly injured that one died at the scene and the other had to be put to sleep. One had 103 injuries, the other had 21.

I'm glad they got prison sentences, but I wish it had been more.

What's F'ing absurd to me is that they get almost as long of a sentence for owning a pit bull terrier (four months prison term for that offense) as they do for fighting the dogs (6 months).

WTH is wrong with that picture?

And they can't own dogs for a few years. Big deal. Who's going to enforce it? They should never be allowed to own dogs again EVER.

They got a slap on the freakin' wrist for a heinous crime that shows the lack of a soul and they'll be free to do it again far too soon. Or worse.
