Serious Question - Please Help

My friend's American Pitbull Terrier was neutered about a week and a half ago. Though before he was neutered, her Border Collie was in heat. After the American Pitbull Terrier she took a piture of the "tie" right here.

Could her dog be pregneant even though her American Pitbull Terrier was neutered before the "mating."

I believe sperm is still viable for about 3 weeks after a neuter, so yes it is possible. She should take her BC in for at least a mis-mate shot, if not an outright spay.

I know with Rabbits, they say 8 weeks... But that's different.

She could be preg...
Like Zoom said, if it's possible, the firend could take her to be spayed... Which probably wouldn't hurt unless she's a breeding bitch, or a show dog.

Just talked to my friend who is a vet. She said a freshly neutered male is potent and able to get a bitch pregnant for AT LEAST a week post neuter. I would say there is a very good chance the BC is pregnant. Vet time!

Agree with showpug, been told they are still good to go for a week post neuter, 2 wks big maybe but doubtful, 3 weeks out no way.

Good to know the dates; I've always through 3 weeks was stretching it a bit, but a couple people have sworn up and down that 3 weeks was still potent...or maybe it took 3 weeks for the hormones to subside? I forget.

Yeah i know shortly after the neuter they're still uhh "working" depends on how long it's been.

I'm pretty sure it's because there is still sperm in the tubes (Or whatever they're called) or something along those lines. *shrugs* Or that's what I was told anyways.
