For some reason my boyfriend's Jack does not like me. She's not really aggresive, she once nipped at my face about 6 months ago but that was the extent of that. I don't really know how to describe it she just DOES NOT want to be around me. I TRY to get her to like me but nothing works, no matter how nice i am. He has her in training classes right now and the instructor told us that she is probably jealous of me. She said that I should feed her, her food by hand and that she should get no treats or toys from anyone but me. I don't really think this is working .. the only time she likes me is when i have the food or toy and then as soon as she gets the toy or is done eating she hates me again. (I don't work so I am home all day while he is at work) When he gets home from work she clings to him .. she will not leave his side .. whether he is walking around the house or sitting on the couch ... and she will stare at me with her ears back, cowering like i'm going to beat her or something. I don't hit her so I don't get why she is so afraid of me (if that's what it is) and doesn't like me. I'm just frustrated on what i should do. Is there a problem with me or the dog?? And how do we fix it???

She sounds like a beastie. I'd say the trainer is right; she's jealous of you and the attention your boy friend is giving you.

I think you being the only one to give her anything is a good idea. He should only play with her when you are around, so she associates his attention, with you being there. Otherwise, she'll think that when you aren't around, she gets all his attention.

If she has a Kong toy, try stuffing it with Peanut Butter, and holding if for her while she licks it. She needs to realize that the good things come from you.

Keep at it, she'll come around! Good luck!
